2025 Season Predictions

Well another rugby league website has released their predicted 2025 ladder, and you guessed it the big red V were placed 17th. I honestly don't know why so many experts have us collecting our 1st ever joint venture wooden spoon but if I was coaching I'd be printing every websites predictions, enlarge the ladder and put them on the dressing sheds doors and walls. My predicted top 8 pending injuries to key players would be:

1. Storm
2. Broncos
3. Panthers
4. Sharks
5. Bulldogs
6. Sea Eagles
7. Roosters
8. Dragons

Time will tell if I'm a dreamer

  3. Manly
  4. Brisbane
  5. Dolphins
  6. Cronulla
  7. St. George Illawarra
  8. New Zealand

Every year one or two team shock everyone by how badly they are going and one or two by how well they are going. Go badly is Bullgrubs and Shonkies. Go well is Dragons and Dolphins.

Bullgrubs definitely top 8 same as Sharks if not top 4 in my humble view

DRAGONS

Ladder: 8th (5 wins, six losses)
Grade: B
Season so far: The Dragons could be sitting inside the top four right now if not for three one-point losses, against Souths, Parramatta and the Warriors. But Shane Flanagan’s men have rallied in recent weeks to clinch back-to-back wins and force their way into the top eight. The wins have aligned with Flanagan axing halfback Lachlan Ilias for rising star Lyhkan King-Togia who looks like he’s got a huge future in front of him.

Standout player: Clint Gutherson is making a strong case for buy of the season. The former Eels skipper was shown the door so new coach Jason Ryles could stamp his mark on the side, but one club’s loss is another’s gain and Gutherson has been superb for the Dragons. The classy fullback has played all 11 games this season, scored six tries and averaged 174 run metres per game. Gutherson sat 7th on the Dally M leaderboard before it went behind closed doors.

Where’s it gone wrong: Game management in the close ones. The reason Ilias got dropped was because when the game was on the line in the one-point losses against the Rabbitohs and Eels, he couldn’t get the job done. The Dragons led by 12 points in both of those games but went on to lose in what Flanagan hopes won’t come back to haunt his side later in the year.

News LTD trying to take the pressure off their man Shane Flanagan. It's a C at best. Lost to Souths missing several of their best players and Parra missing their best by far. Beat Storm, Gold Coast and Manly missing their best players. I know we they can only beat who is put in front of them but a B is much kind.

I'd say C- is fair.

I respect your opinion but I have to take issue with two things.
  1. This is about the team and entire club, not about only Flanno.

  2. Remember we have very far from been spared on the injury front. Not only that but long-term injuries in the positions we can least afford. B is giving him an easy mark if E- is the lowest and A+ is highest but C- is also harsh. I'd give him a C+ or B-.
