I was worried about speed as well but Finau is pretty quick and if that dude from rugby, Lawson, comes good, those 2 on the wings, Holmes in the centres, makes for a fast enough backline.
Jeez I wanna see Tyrell keep that extra mass if he is playing wing. Cant see it overly affecting his pace but will help him in defense and avoiding being barreled into touch by big Polynesian outside backs.
Traditionally, and of course there are exceptions, props don't really reach their prime in 1sts until at the very least 3 to 5 yrs playing in that grade. I hope we have an exception but I very much doubt that our current coach would throw any of our young forwards into the deep end. We need to buy a hardened experienced prop.
I always liked young players being positive however in my experience it wouldn't matter who our play maker is if our engine room is failing to consistently make the advantage line allowing the time and space for our play maker to perform.
Putting on weight and putting on muscle mass are entirely different things
Not 2nd guessing a premiership winning coach but in my view we won't be a competitive top 8 team without that prop. Fingers crossed we sneak into 7th or 8th next season even though we are near favourites again to miss out
Maybe Loko jnr is that prop?
I think just the improvement from Couchmans on Lawrie/BMM’s ability will help. I do agree our pack is subpar but part of getting 40 points against us every 2nd week was forwards who got carved up through the middle like those 2 who are well below NRL standard these days
