Off contract 2026:​

  • Damien Cook: Will retire
  • Mathew Feagai: I hope he improves a lot this year and earns an extension.
  • Lachlan Ilias: Good luck. Kade Reed is going to knocking on the door.
  • Blake Lawrie: ESL
  • Luciano Leilua: I think he's good but so many young forwards coming through.....
  • Jacob Liddle: Re-sign.
  • Francis Molo: Spend his last year or 2 as a player in the ESL.
  • Loko Pasifiki Tonga: Priority re-signing.
  • Mikaele Ravalawa: Bye
  • Hame Sele: Hope he comes back strong this year and earns an extension. If Molo and Lawrie are both gone, there'll be an opportunity.
  • Tyrell Sloan: Hope he becomes a good winger this year.
  • Jaydn Su’A: Same for Luciano but Su'A is a bit younger and a bit better. Think he'll be kept.

Payne Haas is going to be a free agent from November 1 this year. Just sayin.

  • Jaydn Su’A’s contract extension was announced as a two-year deal starting from this year. He does however have an option in his favour to remain at the Dragons in 2027. Jacob Liddle has a mutual option which means the Dragons can take it up at a certain amount and if they do not he can take it up at a lesser amount a week later.
Finally I understand mutual options. If both sides have an option, why wouldn't it be the same as no option? I understand it now. Each option is for different money.

Dylan Brown open to offers. Might have been a good replacement for Hunt but now with Ilias and Atkinson along with Reed and KT, don't need any halves.

The year Parra made the GF, must have been 2022, he was among the best 5/8s in the comp. But

came back down to earth in a big way last year. Even if the Dragons suddenly weren't stacked for halves, I wouldn't go near 900k a year for Brown if I was Flanno.

Don't have any marquee halves. Best hope for marquee halves might be Reed 7. and Atkinson or LKT 6. from next year.

Well all is revealed, that prop I've been banging on about, would anyone believe Matt Lodge has been given a train/trial deal goodness gracious me

He was rumoured to have signed a train and trial deal.

I wonder what Flanno's reaction would and should be if Lodge came back and said something like, "about that train and trial deal......."

Mixed feelings. Dragons could use him for a year or two but it's be nice to show other potential recruits Flanno isn't messing around. If Dragons offer you a contract, give it serious thought because there won't be a second offer.

He's been underwhelming but I hope he's ok. Still would probably be our second middle forward selected after JDB.

Before I read the post below this one, I would've said "no second chance". Not so sure now.
