Round 6 v Manly

He’s resigned til 2028 hasn’t he?

Another contract burning a hole in our cap, f*ck we have made some awful recruitment and retention decisions under Flanno’s tenure

If only we could fast forward 2-3 years from now and see the project or pathway Ando shifts to for the roster

Speed and athleticism has to be the way, these George rose or 2025 Luciano Leilua types aren’t the way, I’d go as far to say the Tuipolotu/Suli body shapes in the backs aren’t the model anymore

These fast twitch backs like McLean/savage/Koula who can create something out of nothing or take advantage of half chances are the ones excelling these days

I would genuinely have a recruitment policy where players aged 29 or older can’t be signed unless they are exceptional (subjective but you get the jist) + no longer than 2 years

It’s a young man’s game and the only guys getting let go by clubs are aging stars (Drinkwater/holmes/Gutho) or fringe first graders like Illias/Fale

Well people, one of our most defining days in the history of this club. The crowd at the Gong will eat them alive if another display like last week is produced, but they will also cheer them to the hilt if they come out firing. IMO what I have seen in the last few weeks is a team that is not playing for the coach. I have listened to all the media BS this week, but have also read some pretty good articles that show the damning facts with SF at the helm. I dont know what to really think about this game, if we lose, there will be some massive repercussions, but if we win, do we really win or just get relief for a week and then get smashed for another 9 games. Unfortunately that is my state of mind, and has been now for quite a while. I say this every year that we have so many problems and issues, starting from the top, I'm actually mentally drained and tired, gone are the days we put a team to the sword and gone are the days where I know my team will show up consistently win, lose or draw. For the sake of this club, I hope we can redeem ourselves, Go the Dragons !!!

💯 Jd. Some scribes not painting a pretty picture of his record. Only one that does not agree, or rather wont for fear of further muddying the waters, is our CEO. Wake up and smell the roses Watsford.

Interest in league as a whole in some degree has been lost by me. After being a fan of the Dragons for what seems like an eternity, the excitement has well and truly disappeared. That feeling of "I can't wait to see us beat the Bulldogs this weekend" or "looking forward to our game against the Tigers because our guys look so good" etc. Not one of our players excites me one bit. Not one. If we win against Manly so be it and hope that it continues. If we lose against Manly also so be it - having that losing feeling seems like it is now ingrained into that part of my brain that I now am numbed and could not care less what the outcome is because if it isn't long term success, then another year runs into another and another with the same "here we are again - the same useless losing result".

If changes are to happen at this Club they would have to be massive. Bite the bullet and change everything from top to bottom. Having the new C of E and the proposed changes to WIN Stadium and the neighbouring Entertainment block should be enhanced by the Club coming to terms with our pathetic yearly returns and re-invigorating our Football component to the best it could possibly attain.

Word for word David. You and I are the oldest foggies and Dragons diehards on this forum, so we remember the magic era, the good and not so good eras and the absolute champions we had playing for us. I reckon a good part of my complete devotion to the RedV died in '99 and am yet to retrieve it. But despite everything, I will always support them as it is ingrained in my psyche.

Those were the days when we'd roll up to the ramshackle Kogarah Oval wearing our RedV jumper and carrying our Saints banners, with hi expectations of keeping our record in tact at our fortress, our spiritual home, by walloping another team. And not even bothered by the numb bum from sitting on those wooden benches for hours as we celebrated another win. Then as happy as a clam we'd sing the Dragons song and wave our banners as we trudged up the hill to Carlton Station to catch the train home.

Good on you RVH for your devotion and resilience given all our ups and downs. I will never rid myself of being a devotee of the Dragons, heaven forbid, not in a million years. It is so good though to get a few things off the chest and breathe in deeply and strive on no matter what.

Yeah. Happy days. They will come back, bigger and better RVH.

Ditto David. One team for a lifetime. Even my brother cant claim that and we both started following footy round same time. Back then he followed the Eels as our boarding school was in the Parramatta district. Not me as the first time I saw Raper, Gasnier, Smith in a Red V jumper, I was hooked and at that young age I was totally unaware of their premiership winning deeds..

I use to get so depressed when we played so well but lost on the day. Now I'm always depressed I just can't see us going forward for a long time I love the dragons whole heartly but hate this team. I have managed to enlist my children and grand children on the dragons band wagon but are having difficulties justifying the support to them recently. One of my grand sons went to the donkeys he said he was coping to much crap at school.

Reason for those numb bums mate. Was far better sitting on the grassy hill but there was always a rush to secure a prime spot and the other downside, too cramped when carrying a banner.

You would all then remember the skull and his merry men. He was banned at one time so watched over the fence standing on a milk crate. 3 games in a long day was great . You had to ensure you ate your big pen pie washed down with a soft drink so you didn't go hungry. To top it off in the 70s and 80s we had decent teams. At least I have my memories
