I haven’t heard good things about richardson behind the scenes + he’s not a GM of football

He’s been CEO + he’s had 2 court cases against him at 2 seperate clubs. If it was a one off then fair enough but there’s a pattern there that he’s a common denominator

Also on the board potentially scrapping the staff in the football department, hilarious that it’s gonna take a spoon for it to happen

So not finishing in the top 8 for 7 seasons in a row prior to this year wasn’t the breaking point?

There’s just no logic, it’s just a bunch of people on that board that only make big decisions when there’s huge outside noise/pressure

No foresight or proactive thinking

Also just seen from 4 different journos in SMH that we are closing in on Drinkwater and shifted the focus away from Bula aka Bula doesn’t want to come to us, he’d rather stay at tigs

We are about to sign Drinkwater for 3 years (should be 2) because we are absolutely desperate and have left ourselves cornered in the FB market

Drinkwater’s manager is going to absolutely pillage us or the bears and pit us in a bidding war

I don’t mind overpaying if it means it’s only a 2 year deal rather than 3

I've only seen this kid Burton a couple of times, how good is he and how long would it be before an NRL debut for him ? If we had Sloan and TPH, would that do until the kid is ready ?

Burton has the potential to be a great NRL fullback. temperament + ability looks top notch but you can’t bank on him being able to contribute at the NRL level at 18/19

Sloan and TPH are far from the level required for a top 8 fullback

Will Kennedy/Connor Tracey are probably the worst fullbacks in the comp outside of Gutho and are still better than those 3 dragons options by a fair way

We definitely need someone else at fullback, I would be happy with Drinkwater if it’s a shorter deal but with the position we are in and what Perth may offer we might have to give 3 years unfortunately

Richarson helped set up the Panthers and Souths to how they are today, he's had court cases against him because he doesn't f%$k around and if you are an owner or board member that needs to be told, then you will be. Our board would never be able to handle him simply because of the famous one line "you cant handle the truth" !!!

I wouldn't be even contemplating him and to be honest whilst we have this will he or won't he be sacked nobody is going to sign up with us

In my day he would be akin to a figurehead so has oversight of everything to do with footy, He hasn't been a big hit since he has been with the club has to be nearly 10 yrs now in different roles

Just hoping its an interim.. we dont want them rushing a Young 3yr contract thinking the fans will love it...

Ando maybe can recruit 1 or 2 blokes to help with the season.. Fuller and Drinkwater for 27 doesnt sound like the worst outcome.... the damage being caused by this season is going to set us back big time anyway... will be very hard to attract a 7 for example to come into a side thats winless..

He mentioned "running hard" at least twice in the pregame interview and apparently said it in his halftime address. Maybe that's the problem. He's living in the past and can't understand the modern game isn't merely about running hard.

100% it is all coaching. Flanno’s old conservative “bash and barge” game plans do not work in the modern game or younger players coming through. They aren’t being allowed to use their skills

Frank, for the last time they approached them to see if they were interested in applying, they said no because they all were committed to other things. If we approached Anthony Albanese and asked him if he was interested in applying but he said hey I'm too busy being the Prime Minister but thanks, is that a knockback ? A knockback to me would be the Dragons going to any of those 3 and saying you have the job if you want it, all they wanted was for them to throw their hat in the ring and see what happens, they couldn't and we moved on. Ryles came in and rightly or wrongly made all these demands, which our board refused to go with, he then told us to stick it and went to Parra, he now has Brown and Gasnier there. I would say our board mostly as they usually do made a big mistake, its now proving so isn't it.
The board at this club that continue to make themselves untouchable and unaccountable for their positions and decisions they make will always be the downfall of this club. WB told them to stay out of it and won a premiership, but that was WB, no comparison to SF, he's a better coach, recruiter and man manager.

For the last time, we approached them to coach us and they knocked us back. We didn't approached them to to apply for the job.

My questions are these. If Flanno coached say the Roosters with their current squad of players, would he get the squad to win games and make the finals? Likewise, if Robinson coached the Dragons with the current squad, would he get us to the finals?

I think Flanno would have Easts making the finals, with their roster. I don't think Robinson or any other coach would have us making the finals with the roster we have and have had since Flanno took over as coach.
