Round 13 v Broncos Sunday.

Loko looks massive, looks like hes gained some size. For me, Couchmans are absolute priority, followed by Loko, then Jacob. TBH i dont see any leaving, Jacobs whole family is entrenched in Wollongong & loko's Fiance plays for us...
I hope we can build some positivity off this win and maybe another one in the future.. Watson.. maybe the OB whoever that is..

But with Loko and Halangahu, I reckon its gonna come down to the choice of coach.. the latter supposedly not a Young fan.. but yes Loko is providing a good big body impact at the moment.. esp for a young guy.. maybe we can cover him and Keaon if he continues.. 2 big bodies prob the max though.. then someone like Webster perhaps there for injuries.

One thing I’ll say is there are very talented backrowers popping up every year out of school. I pray we don’t lose Halangahu but losing backrowers isn’t the same as losing gun young spine players

I’d love to keep Loko because his frame can’t be coached, physically he is an nrl player and if he gets it right between the ears then he’s a potential state of origin caliber forward

Hopefully now that Loko is starting, building his minutes and improving each week, he will stay on, fingers crossed.

Congratulations to the Dragons on a great win over the Broncos this afternoon. Played as a team wanting the win and now can come back to the Gong with that winning feeling again. If the guys can maintain this effort for the remaining games, we could get ourselves off the bottom and then look forward to a better season in 2027. Good luck guys.

As usual Hamish Toby Ryan Dylan and Cookie provide the backbone and go forward, our weaknesses and silly traits in the backs are still there to see ( we wait for 27 to change this) but today everyone put in and got us over the line. So well done to the halves and backs for contributing today to the win.
Confidence will be a hell of a lot better after this. ......Great to hear Hamish and co on the victory song.

If we can extend the Couchies long-term, we will have such a good foundation for the long-term. After today, I feel much better days are just around the corner.

Flegg are top of the table as well. Obviously have a lot of talent coming through the grades.

One thing less upbeat I will say: Kyle had his best game is a very long time but was still comfortably our worst. I'd be going with LKT and Atko.

Speaking of Atko, he's had a rough time of late but was very good today. I don't know what was going through Flanno's head when he tried to turn him into a halfback. He's an out and out running 5/8.

i thought our line speed in defence was very good today for majority of the game..
Loko was more powerful today with his runs, excited to see how he finishes up at the end of the year
The forward pack next year with KK and some better forward depth will lead us to more victories
Just need some couple of more players with speed to compliment our 1-5

Today off the back of our engine room our halves ran 10 times a piece for a total of 153m double the avg runs and metres. Makes a very big difference when your halves are taking on the line

Defensive line speed today was the best I have seen in 2 years if not more

I will say that I agree with the 2nd rower comment, but I don't think Jacob is absolutely a middle and is already playing there in cup.. I think hes going to be a tractor of a middle too, hard to tackle with his low centre of gravity, good footwork.. and reliable in defence.. problem is hes almost 18mths younger than Loko.. who himself only just turned 21.. thats a long time for him to be patient while his body catches up to regular 1st grade.. Loko barely starting to look a 1st grader now.

Ultimately if we can keep 1 of em + the couchies, I'm ok with that.. still disappointing but it once again is a reminder of how hard it is to 'just back juniors', its very hard to keep them through these years, esp the ones who aren't getting the first grade time for whatever reason.

Couchies, Stewart, Egan though are the heart of the young pack.. the steelers kids.. but yeah Loko is growing on me lately, still has some errors in him which kill me but its ok if he keeps developing the way he has been.. we need a big body like that for the kick-offs etc.

Gutherson was our best for metres before going off

His body size hurt the Broncos today
