I thought Kerr was very good. His defence was first class and he made some strong runs, often poking his nose through the line and getting quick play the balls. I couldn't help thinking how much he had improved since his last stint with us.

Agree, although it is always a risk spending a huge amount on a long contract for a front rower. However, Tino would be a great example for the Couchmen, Stewart , LPT, Liu etc, etc While I think NAS will be a bad example, only show our young forwards what they shouldn't be doing.

Exactly, look at the crowds the Tigers and the Eels were getting for example. They both have fine attacking weapons and while they didn't do much better than us on the ladder they usually played an entertaining, attacking brand of football and I guess their fans saw some hope for the future.

Yes the stats (missed tackles, linebreaks conceded etc) indicated on paper that our defence wasn't too bad but as someone else said that is mainly due to our "passive" defence, where we wait for the attack to come to us instead of a punishing in your face defensive line at speed. As an example...

To be fair, I would've loved to have seen Sloan take on their fullback, not with a chip & chase, but with a swerve and then use pace to try for the corner. But that's because I have a lot of faith in his speed and evasive skills. I just wish he would back himself and his skills more often.
