Well we all saw the marked improvement from Toby this yr, Ryans turn next season to see if he can match his twin. If those two fire consistently, Stewart and Egan too plus the emerging Jake H and solid benchies then we may more than hold our own with other teams.
As our leader? In attack yes but not defense or taking a game by the scruff. When things were not going our way in attack how often did Jack step in at first/second receiver to add some missing back line spark. Dont see Jaydn with that ability.
Spot on DD. But players of Jacks calibre dont grow on trees. I have belief that Toby could be our man, but a little down the track, Hamish also. Time will tell. But like you say we need that leader for next season, a bloke that has proven himself at his club, someone built from the same mold as...
I'd like to see older guys like Webster, Leikvoll promoted to come off our bench next season. Both are big units and look hungry for work. Time Jett Liu was given a crack at the top grade too. Instead of having guys chopping and changing like this year like to see some continuity with our...
Ryles dont agree with you, nor do I. What we will most miss from Jack is his enormous productivity. Every week he busted his balls for the club and the jumper. We have no one that I can see will do that now, perhaps Toby Couchman, but is he as bullet proof as Jack, doubt it.
What better forward pack. No Jack, so immediately we are worse off. Other than the Couchies and Stewart who else do we have to make our pack stronger than this year. Kerr, what a laff. We need a pack leader, a marquee prop and have a snowball in hell chance of landing one.
When you have given 55 yrs to the one club that is a massive amount of frustration to cope with. Since 2010 there have been some good times when Widdop was with us but before and since him, there has been little to enthuse over. Mate to be brutally honest '26 looks the same to me as the last...
Werent we looking at Leo Thompson at one stage. Well he has a twin, Tyrone 110k, with some ball skill, looks to be FG standard. Forget that he is a from a yawnion background and have a crack at him as he'd be hungry for more top grade.
There was one silver lining to all our injuries it prompted our coach to blood our most promising juniors, namely Loko Tonga, Jake H. Expecting this pair to have more game time in '26.
Jack and Hamish rubbed out early was a hammer blow. The guys are actually now playing with some pride in the club, all too late. Was a bummer losing Ryan and Egan early on, then when we had some momentum Toby gone too, then Holmes. Having said that, consistency was again our biggest enemy, that...
Gutsy effort by the second stringers but that is definitely now our season done and dusted, another not reaching the playoffs, more despair. Rotten luck for Jack on his 250th. Make it back for your Dragons finale you war horse.
but are we now changing tack and doing our chasing in secret.
Think that comment explains my similar point of view, so dont need you to tell me how to support my club. Like others, my patience is wearing very thin waiting for something good to happen. When was last time we made the playoffs!
