My thoughts exactly. This was pretty clear right from the start when Flanagan was sacked and they were clearly very happy just to do nothing and give Young his chance.
Since then the maneuvering of the club to make this a reality has been embarrassingly obvious. Either the Board think they are...
Halangahu should be brought into first grade irrespective of what happens to Luc I reckon. If Luc is playing Cup then he's not the reason Halangahu isn't getting picked. It's a head-scratcher for me.
A wild stab in the dark here but I'm guessing the member 100% in on Young would either be Piggott or Bosilkovski?
Based on zero evidence. Just that when they go back to their Leagues club board they have to sit next to Dean's Dad and Peter Doust.
Seems to me that the timing of Doust leaving...
I could live with Cheika on an initial 2 year deal, now that we have Anderson to manage player movements and Creagh to oversee the football department generally. It would be a hell of a fun ride either way.
I hear what you're saying Rufus and yes clearly our backs and some of our forward have been terrible this year and in fact for years we have underperformed as a team. But I have seen so many instances of new coaches coming into a team where the fans were ready to sack every single player because...
Dean Young is clearly not a top level coach. If he was we would have seen major changes already irrespective of "the cattle". I'm not saying we would've gone on a run like Manly but really good coaches tend to make very clear changes in the trajectory of even a poor team.
My concern is they...
No mate we're talking about the club trying to sign players in every position not just in the halves. And your idea that the Head Coach would be actively working against that.
I don't think so. Sami, Drinkwater and KK were works in progress for quite some time while Flanagan was in charge so he was obviously part of that process. Metcalf is an impressive quick-draw reaction where he's taken advantage of a situation, great work. Why would Flanagan not have wanted DA to...
Does it matter what number JDB has been given? Surely if he's in the 19 he has as much chance as anyone on the bench at playing. Or have I got that wrong?
True. For that to happen he needs to knuckle down and do what his coaches tell him to do. He has a premiership winning head coach to learn from, and two assistant coaches who have won the comp as players who did most of their work in the middle of the pitch. He will not be overlooked if he is...
I'm happy it's not just me that thinks that. If you could get him now on current form for a couple of years for reasonable money then of course you would. If you get him starting next year for 2/3 years on serious money then you're taking a huge risk which we've done before with older players...
