Tremendous areas to have a 6 game win streak wirh half the team still flegg eligible

If Sua is out for a few weeks there could be a shuffle on the cards, obviously for first grade but potentially Reggie’s as well if a player gets the call up

Forwards were terrific first 40 making and passing the advantage line often, promoting quick play the ball and line speed. But it all went pear shaped after that with an error riddled second 40 that invited a team well below us on the ladder back into the contest. We just snatched it out of the fire. Talau will be spewing. Finau starved yet again, at times looking a deliberate ploy to keep play away from his left side. Hope I'm wrong and that this is not happening in a Dragons team in this day and age.

Flegg holding a narrow lead at oranges over a side above us on the ladder. Daniel Meafou still out so gives young Saints lock Matthew Alhazim another game to impress the coach.

Jersey Flegg Notes (36-26 Win):
  • Jett Liu dropped back to starting prop, no Jesse Williams again.. my god he is always injured.
  • First try was a pretty simple TPH > Treweek > Lyric movement, early thoughts on Lyric is hes very nimble, caught some good high balls.. definitely seems like wing might be his bag, I like the way he glides as he moves... has some errors in him still though.
  • 2nd try was another huge kick from Reed.. found the ground again (gosh he is starting to look very good at this level), ball bounces back and Heidke takes it beautifully and in traffic gets the offload for TRumble to crash over (10-0 up, 9mins in)
  • 3rd try was a chip near the goalline from Reed, TRumble tapped it back and cst/pring finished it... bit of an odd one, but a huge start 14-0 after 13mins.
  • 4th try was just Heidke with footwork near the line.. pass from Reed.. too skillful.. it was 20-22 at half time (havent bothered to cover the knights tries).

  • We had a chance for a 5th try early in the 2nd half, Heidke delivered a ball to TRumble with an open line and hes just put it down cold..
  • We made a few errors, the knights have 3 on report for crushers and what not.. eventually we get our sh*t together and are attacking their line.. Heidke was millimetres away stepping out of 4 tackles but they stopped him.. and then another Reed chip on the opponents line.. this time Treweek picks it up 1handed off the bounce if you dont mind for our 5th try. 26-22.
  • Lyric taken out in the air which saved us from a runaway knights try I think.. key moment.
  • Reed to Pring to TRumble into yawning space.. catches this one.. 30-22. Reed is missing some very easy goalkicks today..
  • Newcastle bombed a try on our line next.. I think we got very lucky there on lyrics wing.
  • Got lucky again Afu not standing up to play the ball.. but we got the penalty.. off the back Reed puts on some footwork and slices thru untouched.. 36-22.
  • Heidke off the back fence charges through 6 tackles and gets us into their attacking zone, but we cant capitalise.. Newcastle went on to score another and almost a 2nd.. they were very dangerous on the edges... 36-26 Final score.
  • Note: If Heidke hadnt been promoted for 3 minutes last week im sure they would have beaten Canberra in our last game, he is a 6-12pt difference to this side.. Reed is the other 90% he is really finding himself, even under pressure he drops it onto his foot for far longer kicks than we get in 1st grade... hes also I think just having fun, with a range of short attacking chips and low driven kicks.. as well as his running game.. the full bag.

Not quite, has to work on his defense. Gets swatted away due to his size and being reluctant to go low. But all his other attributes are coming to the fore and he looks our best half prospect. I have called on SF to gamble on him for next season, actually I said this season but not realistic. Was wondering why Liu never turned out for Ressies. But why the demotion, been strong all season. For mine he is ready for a FG debut.

Jesse had a car crash

Jett dropping back is a huge bonus, helps with our go forward and allows Kade to play better off it.
He'll play again next week too, we have a block of 5 games at home, hopefully the plan with Jett will work and we go on a winning streak.

Kade looking better every game, he will get better each level and behind a better pack. Will be good to see him in Cup maybe back end of the year.
