oh 'next' week good.. our reserve graders will be all out of action this weekend.. even next weekend there will be a heap of blokes in the Charity Shield squad.. but souths will be in the same boat.
assume its a combined flegg/cup team, will be a good watch for sure...

After the performances of some of the young guys last night who’ll be in the cup side I think they’ll be an incredible watch
Would be nice to have them playing several months of footy together forming combinations
Interested to see if Heidke/DMeafou will be cup regulars or mostly Flegg
A centre combination of Buchanan/Heidke and halves of LKT/Reed with Halangahu/Cyrus/Tsougranis/Meafou amongst the forwards potentially

I rate the ressies coach , if he can get on a regular basis those players who you have mentioned to play together, I can definitely see a repeat of last seasons finish.After the performances of some of the young guys last night who’ll be in the cup side I think they’ll be an incredible watch

I thought Reed went well enough to be considered for a promotion to ressies. He was up against some decent 1st graders last night who were auditioning to partner the Knights new marquee player Brown and I rated him over those two.
I would suggest that our ressies can emulate last season.

That was the only thing I was a bit sad about, was hoping for Heidke outside Reed for atleast half the match.. but understand the priority is Fale/Tu/CT/Feagai ahead of the season, especially if Val isnt 100% and ppl at the ground said hes definitely still favouring his leg as he walks.After the performances of some of the young guys last night who’ll be in the cup side I think they’ll be an incredible watch

Heidke didnt really get a chance to show his skills.. im glad he took that catch over his head though or they'd have been attacking our line.. and although the dropped catch at the end was annoying.. like its probably a 50/50 for him at that speed, and he got his hands to it.. I remember SFinau taking a ball just like that in last years trial for example on that day he got 4 tries iirc.. though I mentioned at the time not a single one of our other wingers would have been any chance of taking a ball behind them.. Sloan struggles to catch balls in front of him, CT wouldnt even be in the frame anyway..
DMeafou I think we saw him in preseason training, so hopefully he is fit.. and I guess we will see him next week for the first time in the cup/flegg trial.. i think definitely hes playing cup with the guys we have let go.. though I havent done the maths on it.. like how many bodies do we still have to fit into the squads, assuming/praying that no more injuries come in the next few weeks.

The Rabbitohs’ NSW Cup open men’s team will trial against the St George Illawarra Dragons at WIN Stadium on Saturday 14 February at 5:45pm, the curtain raiser to the Charity Shield NRL pre-season match. The Jersey Flegg Cup under 21s men’s team will trial against the Dragons on Saturday 14 February at 5pm at Collegians Sporting Complex in Figtree.
