Looking like Ramsey is going to be out for a long time. Hook will probably sign Josh Manseur. He's in his 30s and no other clubs want him so that is perfect for Hook and our heroes in the recruitment and retention committee.

So at this stage, Junior hasn't been stood down.

He'll almost certainly be stood down. As soon as he enters a plea. Assuming he pleads not guilty. If he pleads guilty, he'll probably be in jail for at least this year.

Sullivan is out for around 6 weeks. One would think not a major issue because he'll be back for the first game of the regular season but if Amone is stood down, it'll be really bad because Sullivan won't be able to train as 5/8 until the season starts.

Maybe Amone won't be stood down. Maybe he swears by his innocence and has threatened to sue the NRL when he is found not guilty.

Some good news. Sully's hamstring injury isn't that bad. He's expected on board for the official trial games. I think the first is against St Helens and of course the Charity Shield.

St. George Illawarra Dragons star ruled out of 2023, career left in doubt

The Dragons will be without fullback Cody Ramsey for at least the 2023 season after the club ruled him out for the year while he recovers from ulcerative colitis illness. It was reported Ramsey has been told he will not be able to play rugby league for at least the next 12 months, which will rule him out until the 2024 pre-season at the earliest.

Dragons officials told the Herald on Wednesday Ramsey would not be available to play in 2023, but the club are hopeful the 22-year-old will return to rugby league in the future. Ramsey, who has scored 14 tries in 36 games since his debut in 2020, was tipped to be the Dragons’ starting fullback in 2023, before the illness took hold.

The young gun has undergone several operations over the last few months and is scheduled to undergo further treatment over the next 12 months as he bids to return to the sport. The disease is often caused by an immune system malfunction, causing inflammation and ulcers on the bowel and digestive tract.

“This means that Cody won’t be available to play NRL in the 2023 season. “Our focus will be on Cody’s medical rehabilitation and well-being in the first phase. “From there we’ll work towards what future looks like for him. “He’s been in and around training with the players and coaches recently and is having a hugely positive impact on all of us at the club. “Cody is a great character who is one of the most passionate, popular and respected members of our club and will have a significant impact on the success of the team over the coming season.”

I wish him well but it now means the club has 5 spots open in the top 30 for this year. If Amone and Ramsey are back on board next year, means the idiot will have promote juniors or get another mid to high 20s nobody from the QLD Cup.

Lets just wish him the best before speculating on who is going to replace him. Give him a year to get better and pack on several kgs so he an excellent winger complimenting Sloan's skill from fullback.

Plenty of time to discuss replacements. Right now we can only wish the best for Junior and Ramsey.

He will stay in the top 30 unless he is medically retired.

So I suppose that this will be our line-up in round 2:
1. Sloan
2. Rav
3. Lomax
4. Suli
5. Feigai
6. Mbye
7. Hunt (c)
8. Lawrie
9. Liddle
10. Molo
11. Sua
12. Murdoch - Masila
13. Debelin
14. Woods
15. Musgrove
16. Bird
17. Feigai

But knowing our old style coach he will probably play Debelin as a prop and slip his other mate Bird into loch. It will be interesting to see our pre season line up

God that backline is slow! So is the forward pack for that matter.

They should ask him to medically retire and promise him in writing he'll be re-signed if he is ok for next year! That's what successfully run clubs would do.

That is a wooden-spoon team! But I read Mybe is penciled in as the interchange hooker. He won't be playing 5/8, his best position. Sullivan and Bird is the backup.

You may be correct and even if they make those suggested changes we still won't be playing semi finals football this or next year sadly

I agree. Mybe is a better 5/8 than hooker, or halfback or fullback but still hardly enough to strike fear in the rest of the NRL.

I think you are right but I'm bored just looking at that team list. Another year of trying to drag the opposition down to our level coming up?
