Well lads book your flights and accommodation now. The Dragons are off to Vegas in 2026, along with the Bulldogs, Knights and the Cowboys. Id say Round 1 2026 will be Dragons v Bulldogs.
I think from round 1 next year we are going to have a pretty good team. Won't embarrass ourselves but I'm not sure if this is really good for team performance. I guess it's a good point to promote the club to for potential new recruits so that's obviously good but play one game over there, miss the next so early in the season. Not sure it's good. You beauty we can embarrass ourselves over in Vegas against the Dogs, just like the embarrassment of ANZAC day on a national level. I wish we would have waited to at least put together a competitive team for 2026 before we staged ourselves at that level. You can already see the excuses coming next year for our poor start.
I.m always fearful that everytime this team is put on some sort of pedestal we let ourselves down badly, its embarrassing. I would be thinking that the NRL's marquee ANZAC DAY game has well and truly been an embarrassment for us. Why would we want to go over there and play a team that will very likely be top four if not top 2, possibly win a premiership and we take them on in RD 1, somehow, I dont think what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas will apply to this one.I think from round 1 next year we are going to have a pretty good team. It is highly likely that we cop a thrashing by the Bulldogs in Vegas going from the 'Dogs current form, however, Vegas is a long way off for that match and just by chance we might have a squad of players that will win us the game which could turn our fortunes around for 2026 and beyond. Wishful thinking at this time justa, that's all. HahaI.m always fearful that everytime this team is put on some sort of pedestal we let ourselves down badly, its embarrassing. Yeah I know Dave, I should be more hopeful of all the good things and our juniors, but jesus this has been a tough period for us, we cant seem to do anything right, but hey I cant bring myself to support anyone else, that would just be the biggest betrayal, guess I'll just have to suck it up and do meditationIt is highly likely that we cop a thrashing by the Bulldogs in Vegas going from the 'Dogs current form, however, Vegas is a long way off for that match and just by chance we might have a squad of players that will win us the game which could turn our fortunes around for 2026 and beyond. I like your post Jo, and I hope you are right. Can you please tell me what attributes the Dragons had prior to the last 2 ANZAC Day matches. With the day depicting courage, honor, fighting for your mates, it didn't seem to strike an accord for the Dragons.Well it would appear that many of you believe that Las Vegas is going to embarrass our brand overseas and around the world.
Let me just say this. I've been fortunate to have travelled overseas every year for the last 26 yrs, and covering 5 continents. I can say on each occasion I wear my Dragons gear and not once have I not heard , " Go the Dragons ". It's heart warming the support our club has.
As a coach it didn't matter what training we did, what game plans we had if the players didn't have these three vital mental attributes/characteristics:
TRUST, BELIEF and FAITH. Then the game was more than likely going to be lost. The same has to be said as a supporter.
The Dragons will not embarrass themselves come March 2026 mark my words.
It has been extremely disappointing and poor. That day means a lot to me personally, its my wedding anniversary and I honour my father who faught in WW2.I like your post Jo, and I hope you are right. Agree. I was there as well, in my service uniform with my Saints flag, least to say I was highly disappointed. Congrats for your anniversary and a big thankyou to your father for his service, you should be extremely proud. It has been extremely disappointing and poor. There is no explanation for those two performances. On some occasions individuals and the team are just overwhelmed. Once an opposition take the ascendancy in a game unless you can change the flow of a game then on most occasions you will end up losing.
I sat there right behind the players in the 1st half last Anzac Day. The lack of possession just took its toll and they just weren't able to respond, fatigue was a major factor that day. The Roosters on the back of that possession able to convert that into points. It was sad to witness but we were never going to come back. I sat there until the full time whistle.
Thank you for your service and God Bless. Dad never talked about the war except on 1 occasion where he told me of the horrors the tragedies and the heartbreak of losing so many family and friends. He then once and only once opened his foot locker and showed me his medals. I proudly march every Anzac Day wearing his medals. He was in the Polish corps fighting alongside the British 8th Army under General Montgomery Nth African and Sicilian campaigns.Agree. Hard to imagine or should I say comprehend the horrors, and whilst I can only talk about the GULF War it would pale into insignificance to what your father and others endured, god bless to you and everyone that remembers and respects the sacrifices made so we can all enjoy the life we have.Thank you for your service and God Bless.
