You are ignoring his evasive skills, step, swerve, blinding acceleration. He doesnt need to break tackles.
When in the clear, I'd be very confident in his ability. But most of a wingers game these days is helping out the forwards for the first 2 or 3 tackles after clearing kicks.
If we cant nail Croft for '25 then hearing Ilias is our second choice for half. Atkinson is a 5/8 anyway.
That is true and most of these guys are built like brick crap houses. Sione Finau may not be the biggest winger but he has the power that all Polynesians seen to possess. Sloan has a skinny aborigine frame. Still if he can bulk up as in add muscle like JAC, I see him being in his mold and the Fox has managed a solid career.
If he can. Right now, I think JAC has at least 10kgs on Sloan.
Only 5k mate between the pair. So an extra 5k of muscle on Sloans frame will make a huge difference to his being able to hold his own in tackles.
Still young enough to pack on several more kgs of muscle. Hope he can and starts running hard. If he does that and gains the confidence to match, Gutho might find himself under a lot of pressure.
Just my opinion I'd be chasing young Illias from Souths , he has had a couple of years in top grade injury last year , but for me has cut it and with experience players around him , Cutho , Cook , Holmes would be my choice ........He is the clubs #1 choice if somehow his manager can get him out of his contract to join us for '25. Good signing for me injury free will be a real leader not like the guy who thinks he is a 7 ........ The only good thing I can say about Hunt , he was tough hardly missed any games , lets hope Gutho doesn't miss too many ........
Spot on with that one.. the one thing Hunt was, was reliable.. reliably-average maybe.. but never seemed to get injured.. versus a lot of halves out there are almost stuck together with sticky-tape... Kyle tbf has been pretty robust also... but its why we need atleast 1 backup option for next year.

I think he'll be really good for LKT next year and at least 1 or 2 young backs the following year. Yelling at them from the back, telling them what's what. Though unless Flanno can pull a halfback out of a hat, or out of RU or ESL, I have fears for where the points are going to come from next year.
