its almost a must-win game for me before the bye/storm.. I'd hate to be 0from3 and meeting parra..

very winnable for us if we play near our potential.. but like you guys have identified.. plenty of weapons as we saw in the 2nd half of the CS.. Humphries I think will be a gun longterm.. even this early in his career.. and Gray was shredding us every time he had the ball.. and the Bennett factor.. but.. this is as winnable as anyone else we could be facing.. itll be huge for our season to get 1 under the belt.. silence the doubters.

I think we should definitely be winning this game against south’s as arrogant as that might sound. Odds are about right, they played a bottom 4 side in the dolphins last week who had players out and scraped past by 2 points.

We scored 4 tries against a very good defensive unit in Canterbury and I’d back us to get 4-5 at least against south’s.
It’s all about how that right edge of Sua/Illias/Suli/Feagai defend for mine

. They’ve been suspect in the charity shield and Round 1.
Hopefully no HIA or ACL injuries this week to throw our rotation out of whack and we should have enough to get it done against one of the ‘poorer’ aides

Agree. It just worries me that it was the 1st game of season, a sell out home crowd. I thought motivation wise and being up for the game wasn't going to be an issue even though I picked the Dogs to win by 8 based on our stats against them. We really weren't in the game after they put those 4 tries in a row on us. I hope we are not suffering any hangover/ deflating mental issues as a result of the loss. I think that we will win but not by any big margin.

Never underestimate the St Benny factor. He loves the underdog tag.

Finau has played both sides.. last year it was right side.. he holds it in his right hand and I think he would be better at getting it down on that side.. but I did like having him outside Val.

I reckon Feagai or Sloan would still be options for the right this week.. if u were going to debut Sloan on a wing.. this week would be considerably easier than against melbourne.. but im not too bothered either way.

Lawrie also in thankfully because hes the last prop left really before we start bringing in more rookies, Sele was mentioned as having a calf injury and due back against Melbourne.. but hopefully by then we have Klemmer also.

The reaction from Dragons fans over the feagai and lawrie selections have been over the top...
Lawrie should be in. I was critical of him last year but due to the dire shortage of props, I think he's a logical pick. Feagai on the other hand is just bizarre. How can he play that badly and have played badly consistently for 2 years, and still get selected ahead of Sloan or Finau?

Believe me as an old reserve grade coach, fans are the bane of any coach no matter what grade you coach. I use to call a group of so called fans the unofficial selection committee. 😆 They always had advice on who should be or not be playing and always stood in a group behind the coaches chair. Wonderful memories.

Agree Lawrie is akin to the last prop standing. I personally believe that he will have a big one off the bench for us. If the reports are correct and he has trimmed down then we may see the best of him.

I know I'm probably going to be sin binned by some users for this comment but it is a public forum so I'm just going to say it. And is no criticism of any and for the top 2, it's based on talent for playing wing. Not what they have done so far. Simply put, I think one of the 5 has played very well for a while but I think he's too slow to be a really good winger. The others can become really good wingers.

Best wingers the Dragons have on the books now go in this order:
  1. Finau
  2. Lawson
  3. CT
  4. Sloan
  5. Feagai
