Wish Egan was still fit to play, Katoa ballplaying to our left side where Newcastle had all their joy is a worry and Egan is an excellent defender
On the Sua replacement, the exciting call up would be Nick T but I think the probable and defence first call will be RFM (which is fair enough)

Tough assignment. Watched how they dismantled the under strength Bulldogs. should be an interesting team selection. Don’t know what we do with Sloan and bring Sele and use TC on the edge

They were also drastically understrength. A good team. Will be a hard game.

I'm sure you know better than me but what is going on with Sloan? He is enigma, seems off his game at the moment. There are a great number of posts indicating he will get dropped. Yet he sits 5th on the leading tryscorer list this season with 9, and with better finishing could be sitting 2nd.

Ty had a real rough life growing up, I believe this has had an affect on his mental toughness.
I've watch Ty since he was 16 and his style attitude and commitment hasn't changed.

Big game as we go pass the half way mark in the comp, it doesn't get any easier from here

The reality of being a chance of finishing 8th this season may actually rely on us beating the Dolphins, Sharks then we have a bye, 6 precious points there would give us 20 points. Then round 17 a winnable game against the Eels

Its unfortunate, the injuries + 3or4 games we gave away really rob of us any real chance at finals, but hopefully we can jag a few more as we go and atleast try and get some respect back in the club to help us off the field + while we get some games into these kids.
Do you reckon we will chase atleast 1 for a June30 addition? Or more likely just promote from within (rather than a bandaid signing)?

There is zero reason to promote from within, we don't have to fill the spots.
The other point is June 30 deadline only apply to NRL players. We could still sign from ESL or Cup if injuries hit us in say the spine, so leaving a spot open may be an option.

Every game is winnable but none are easy. I'm glad Sharks don't have any Origin players. Despite Dragons ineptitude giving them a leg up over the past 10 years, they are still unfashionable. But it's going to make them very hard to beat in round 16.
I'm pretty confident lawson & ct will be the wingers since Flanno has been bullish on Lawson from day 1 & CT was one of the best wingers in the comp on the left. I'm more confident than others if both CT & Lawson get picked, the back field yardage game should be awesome with those two. I'm super excited to see that pairing.

Cup has a bye this week so Sloan gets a break, wouldn't surprise me to see him at FB in cup, maybe Codes centre.
If he is not our FG winger he has to be backup FB.

100% and noting that Cody is the point of difference in so many games that were in the balance on the scoreboard, so this is a change im sure Willie will not want to make, and it will be hard for fans.... but at some point unfortunately he has to make way to whoever the 'next in line' fullback is.. someone has to be developing for 1st grade... thats the #1 goal of reserve grade.
Cody will still go good at ctr though.. mind you that causes issue with developing centres (Heidke/Buchanan) but it is what it is. It makes me nervous though because Sloan to my eye was exactly the same player in NSW Cup that he was in 1sts, the same lack of effort to chase or put his body into tackles, the same highlights and lowlights.. the only difference was the stakes werent as high in reserve grade, and he tended to play accordingly, usually grubbering first before taking a tackle.
Rly keen to see if we are serious about replacing him for 2026 (this assumes we can sell him), there are a few young guns out there at clubs like Manly and Newcastle, but they arent going to come here by accident, we would have to really go after that outcome and pay them accordingly... and I havent really seen Flanno take initiative in this space bar chasing middles.
