Trial Game 1 v Knights

So straight from the horses mouth, " This season we will be playing our full strength squad from game 1".

Be interesting to see who he considers our top 17 if he is true to his word.

As I see it trial or no trial we need to start on a winning note against the Knights, roll through the Rabbits the week after, put the Charity Shield into our cabinet then board that plane to LV in a winning mindset.

I see these trial games against the Knights and then the Bunnies as being really tough so in order for us to win the games, we need to be on song in both attack and defence. Come on you Mighty Dragons - show us what you have got before you go to Vegas for the big one over there against a tough Bulldogs team.

Nobody gives us a chance against apparently one of the competition favourites this season. They are expecting to make the top 4 this season we are expecting to collect our 1st wooden spoon.

The first half against Newcastle should give us a clear idea of who Flanno sees as the top 17 (injuries aside). The second half might actually be more interesting, with fringe first‑graders and those pushing for a reserve spot on the Vegas trip getting their chance.

Well the extended 24 man squad for our 1st trial game against the Knights have some surprises for me, thoughts?
1. Sloan
2. Tuipulotu
3. Fale
4. Feigai
5. Tu
6. LKT
7. Reed
8. Kerr
9. Finau
10. T Couchman
11. R Couchman
12. Halangahu
13. Sele
14. Peckham-Harris
15. Heidke
16. Buchanan
17. Tsougranis
18. O'Neil
19. LPT
20. Fagalilo
21. Lawrie
22. Coutts
23. Stanley-Traill
24. Hutchinson

Well so much for the coach stating we would hit the ground running with our strongest available. A red herring there.

Im not going to second guess a premiership winning coach but any time on the park for your new play making pair would have been a gimme in my day but obviously not in today's game.

Back up hookers are there with Finau and Fagalilo and all our back up play makers LKT, Reed and O'Neil. Be interesting to watch.

To me personally it's disappointing. I can see what the coach is doing he is playing our rising young stars next to an experienced 1st grader . Yes the Knights may not give any big minutes to their 1sts players just in case of injuries

Dont know about this one, they havent got Brown, I think this is a massive smoke screen, TPH at 14 ? Oh well someone must know what they are doing, should be fun to watch. No Luch, Su'a etc this game is just a hit out nothing more, lets hope for no injuries at the very least.

Will KF play in the position Flanno said he was recruited to play? Nope. Flanno will say, don't want to risk one of our best. Ask other coaches! Still one trial after this but if Flanno was going to play him there, wouldn't he play him there in both trials?

To me and Im putting on my very old coaches cap. I would suggest that those players who could play back up 9 are being given a run in this game. That signals to me that KF will play with the 6 on his back come season start.

Looks like. Flanno is taking the piss out of the club. Still one more chance but sorry if people don't like but I've had it with Flanno.

I had it with KF after Flanno told everyone to ask other coaches how good Kyle is and now this looks to be it for Flanno.

Yeah he's the only one that surprises me, was struggling to make the flegg side, then filled in due to injury in nsw cup later in the year.. and now a 1st greade trial.. might literally just be an 'all bodies on deck' situation.

I went looking for his name in the extended also.. cause without Sua/Egan out, and im not actually sure what they are doing with Nick positionally... that only leaves Ryan and Halangahu who I doubt will play 80 in a trial.. so who is their sub? CST & Coutts are probably it.. unless they rly have been priming him as a prop, either way we will find out on the weekend!

Note that Toby is not really considered a fringe prop, so his inclusion is interesting.. maybe they just want him to do some minutes.

Yes we know your continuing personal views on the coach and his son so there is no reason to continue with it. Sometimes there is a reason behind team selections that we are not privy too. But I can tell you this with certainty this season 6 will be KF, 7 will be Atkinson.
