Just holding on at oranges, only a matter of time before the flood gates open. They are simply too big, too agile all across the park. Our silly error rate isnt helping with missed tackles, offside and dumb play in the tackle and at the breakdown. Dummy half Riley Brown alone has thrown three poor passes in their end zone, one a probable try gone begging.

Just shortened notes from here, too much footy on today

1st Half:
  • Roosters scored early, but otherwise the first half was a really dogged affair, little bit of rain too is slowing things down.. don't rly feel like we looked like scoring in the first half though, there just isn't a lot of backline finesse in the squad.. plus the conditions.
  • I will say however that we did make some great defensive plays to stay in the game... a lovely 1on1 tackle from our 7 Butler somehow strips a ball as the roosters big 2nd rower crashes over.. nice effort, though not idea it was a 1on1 situation. And later the stand-in winger Mason Bevan the #17 beautiful ball and all tackle as the roosters winger looked to score for all money. 0-8 Half Time.
2nd Half:
  • Turner took an intercept and ran 75m to be tackled with 1m to go.. fark just get over the line.. we had a full set on their line and again didnt look like scoring.. rly disappointing, but we are still in it... in fact the roosters dropped it 1 play later.. and again another set on their line without us looking like scoring.. still 0-8.
  • yet we got the ball back AGAIN 2 tackles later.. this time Weatherall almost gets it over but loses the ball early in the tackle count.. 2 plays later we get the back AGAIN.. and.. nothing.. jeebus.
  • 2 sets later we again get yet a roosters error near their line.. surely we will score this time.. bombed one and then yes finally.. a couple of passes and Morrison is able to get over wide.. 4-8.
  • Note: Would like to see more from CMeafou, could be anything this kid the size and physique and athleticism, yet I don't have many moments in my memory bank for 12mths now.. I mean the odd one for sure but hes a better player than that... I thought for sure he was on the fast-train.
  • We nearly score with the 17 Bevan just unable to take a ball behind him with an open line.. we got another set on their line a few minutes later... 7mins left.. fark our 16 is tackled I think before he had the ball.. causing a knock on.. he could have fallen over the line..
  • Weatherall has gone on with the tackle and I think he's been clocked by the rooster.. Weatherall looks rly frustrated all day.. prob with his form.. he gets sent for 10mins.. and the rooster does too. We get the penalty atleast.. 5mins to go on their line..
  • Holy sh**, we kick it into the goal and somehow the rooster gets his hand with the ball over the line to get back into the play.. but.. they throw a crazy pass and it ends up bobbling into the ingoal and we get a hand on it to score.. but its out on the touchline yet again... 8-8 the score with 2 minutes to go.
  • Give away a penalty.. huge touch finder from Mareko.. and fark Mareko has kicked a field goal deflecting off our player.. we may have deflected it it back in with our charge down.. far out.. what a let down. 8-9.
  • We get it back off the short dropout.. Baldock kicks it into the ingoal risky play but we've pulled it off I guess.. gives us 1 play off their drop out.. and they kick long... but they kick off right to Baldock who tries for a hail mary field goal.. kicks it further than you could imagine but its wide.. damn gutting result despite a really gutsy effort in wet conditions.. and I feel like we were the better team too.. I mean they were more skilled but we were more gutsy.. created enough opportunities but didnt ice them..

Jeez what a terrible start by Saints Ball. Flood gates have already opened for them. eek

Like Matts Storm pack is huge, made up mostly of Polynesians.

4-28 at oranges. It was 14-nil after 12 mins. Can Nichols do something to get us back into this.

fark im struggling to put faces to names in this flegg trial game, if anyone is watching and wants to assist, memories r slowly flooding back from previous years.. will add to this post as the game progresses.. hard to assess without knowing who they are!

24. (Left wing) Saifiti, he is thicc as now.
8. Carmichael (wondered why I didnt know him.. hes the young one we bought)

7. Sargeant Wilson (looks more solid and thicker also.. only played like 30mins).
