First team lists of the nrl season drop tomorrow. What I'd go for

1. Gutho
2. CT
3. Holmes
4. Suli
5. Tu
6. Kyle
7. Atko
8. Kerr
9. Cook
10. T Couchman
11. Leilua
12. Sua
13. Stewart

14. R. Couchman
15. Sele
16. Halangahu
17. Guler
18. LKT
19. Feagai

Imo they'll go with Lawrie instead of Halangahu & Sloan for Feagai.

I would swap around Guler and Kerr ...
18 and 19 would be Jake/Feagai only playing if there is that injury

I'll say this about our rising young star and future halfback for many seasons to come once he debuts barring injuries.

To my old coaches eyes Reed has what it takes to take the step from juniors to ressies. Then there is a stairway from ressies to 1sts.

I would like to see the kid play a season of ressies, mature physically and mentally and learn to play against seasoned men. I would like to see him on the 1sts bench around round 20 this season.

I can't remember the last time we had such a promising 7. There are much more experienced people than me who are in our development management team who will guide all our rising stars to hopefully attain their individual peak playing abilities.

Then the trick is to combine all that individual ability and mould that into a football team that can play consistently at a high level.

If they do so and if we can keep the majority the future looks very bright. I don't want to sound negative or defeatist but that will not be this season.

Personally I envisage young Reed playing 7 with Atkinson 6 in 2027 with Flanagan 14. But they are just my views.

In a perfect world. In this one he might have to play first grade sooner.

Holmes shifting to right centre this year
Will be marking Critta vs dogs
Need to take advantage of their weaknesses. Their pack is very average. Kikau is very overrated. He can be damaging but only once every few games. The other backrower is good. Their little fullback struggles under the high ball and is no threat in attack. Burton isn't a good ball player and Galvin isn't a good halfback. Crighton is good but so is Holmes. Their steriod riddled centre is still little. Suli needs to pick him out one on one all game. They are very beatable.

Wow team list v Dogs

1. Gutherson
2. CT
3. Suli
4. Holmes
5. TU
6. Flanagan
7. Atkinson
8. Guler
9. Cook
10. T Couchman
11. Leilua
12. Su'a
13. Stewart
14. Sele
15. Kerr
16. Lawrie
17. R Couchman
18. LKT
19. Fale
20. Halangahu
21. Feigai
22. Sloan

Surprises, Lawrie, good to see young Stewart, puzzling no backs in the 17. But 4 backs in the reserves.(18/22). Just been reminded now 6 on bench . Gone are the days of having only 2. Then 4, now 6. Wow

Ya cant rly be playing Cook 80 minutes.. I mean you can get away with it in vegas under the hope that Liddle will return soon.. but thats how you burn players out for the season (especially older players), and its gonna be a very long season with essentially 0 hooker depth.

As for 19 players.. honestly Its rly still 17.. only thing thats different is if we get an injury early on (aka the Suli one on anzac day) that will unlock the 18th/19th man.. but it also means clubs will only use 3 men on their bench for as long as possible 'just in case' something happens in the 2nd half..

No surprise really. Sloan and Feagai have fallen well down the order. Halangagu offers much more than Blake but it is Flanno after all. No surprise he went with Blake.

If you want an edge you pick Jake
If you want a middle you pick Cake ..

That simple
Lawrie should only play if there are multiple HIAs etc .. the 4 that should be in the rotation are Sele/Kerr/Ryan/LKT
Flano needs to hold that 4th sub back until late and see where Cook is at.

With Ryan/Hamish you can cover an injury to the edge. Jake is a little surplus there.
If you lose a middle out of the rotation (or two as in the warriors game) then Cake.

Hate him or not he did make more metres/tackles in our trials than any other forward. He was given objectives, met them and is in the 19 for now.
