Round 5 v Cowboys

For mine, there's soo many issues which won't be resolved before the cowboys game. We need changes in team selection & tactics but it won't happen. There's no easter miracle for us. I hope everyone enjoys their easter break, tbh this team isn't worth spending time nor money on at the moment. Anyway I'll give my 17:

1. Sloan
2. Tu
3. Holmes
4. Suli
5. Fale
6. Gutho
7. Atko
8. T. Couchman
9. Cook
10. Sua
11. Leilua
12. Halangahu
13. Stewart

14. Liddle
15. LPT
16. Hutchinson
17. Webster*
18. Sele
19. LKT

Try something different, what we've been doing has failed.

Looks good Dave03. Changes are definitely needed and if Flanno doesn't bring about these changes, he is a dope.

8 losses in a row is about to become 9 im afraid. That was a big win by the Cowboys against the Storm. Taumalolo is back to his best and Hess they laid the platform for their play makers and edge forwards to do their stuff.

The only hope I have is that they were up for that game and will find it hard to reproduce that effort. As for us surely at home we will lift and couldn't possibly play that bad again?

I can't see a win against the Cowboys. Too fast, too strong for our guys I'm afraid to say!

Remember this game is still happening. Toby Couchman will come back into the team without a shadow of doubt. I'd also pick Halangahu and LPT on the bench but actually coming on to play. Drop Kerr for one and Gular or Lawrie. Probably Lawrie because even though he does a lot of work, he lacks impact. Then there is the problematic backs. Buchanan didn't do enough to force a reshuffle with Gutho 5/8, Holmes fullback, Buchanan centre. So it will be LKT and that's ok. Give him a chance playing without KF.

I'd drop all 3. Suli should be back so he replaces Buchanan. I'd like fale to have an opportunity, atleast he's an aerial threat. If Sloan isn't part of our future then leave Gutho at fb and bring LKT into 5/8th, otherwise move Sloan to fb and Gutho to 5/8th.

We need to give gametime to loko and jacob. Be brave with changes.

Absolutely! Time to be brave with the changes. LPT, Halangahu and others are the future. Blake and Gular are gone at the end of this year.

So in the backs Suli back and Fale gets a run on the wing. Sloans inept performance sees him dropped.

In the forwards Lawrie not starting which is a good thing replaced by Couchman who will partner Guler who has to show up this week.

LKT gets his chance probably for the next 2 weeks at 6. Good to see Halangahu finally on the bench . Kerr dropped to the extended bench with Sloan.

I dont know what LPT has done to rub the coach up the wrong way hes a reserve. There must be some internal issues with him, I would have had him in the 17, Reed and TU the other reserves.

A Saturday 5.30p game at our spiritual ground, it will be interesting to see the actual crowd size

Actually think we’ll win just to give us some false hope
Dropping wingers is so ridiculous
Don't think we can win. There will be a bounce back from Sunday's humiliating performance and it won't be easy based on my experiences for the Cowboys to be up from the Storm game playing against a genuine top 4 team opposed to us a genuine bottom 4 team.

So there is a chance we could ambush them.

  • Good chance for LKT. He needs to nail it because knowing Flanno's coaching for the past 2 and a bit years, he will only have one chance. Needs some help from his teammates as well. Obviously Cowboys forwards are going to run at him all game.
  • Nice Halangahu seems to have been promoted in front of Kerr but I'd have gone with LPT instead of Lawrie.
  • As for wingers, gee it'd be nice if we had someone like Savelio Tamale but alas.
  • I hope he starts with Hamish and Sele on the bench. Sele has been not much better than Kerr.
