I opened my Instagram account this morning and saw that (and was a gee up for sure) that Matt Cooper was appointed Head Coach with immediate effect - whoever put that on must think that it is April Fools Day Hahaha!

Steve Price was and still is an excellent assistant coach. I think Flanno was also highly regarded as Manly's assistant. Dean Young might make a good head coach after failing miserably as an assistant. Only as the interim for the rest of this year until Brad Arthur can come.

Yep but being beaten one on one on the outside doesn’t register as a missed tackle if you are too slow to slide and lay a hand on someone

Defence is more than making tackles hence us being among the worst for points conceded.

I wonder if Flanno or his replacement would be so bold as to drop Gutho? I honestly didn't get the criticism of him until last game. I agreed with him that he's never a 10 but is a consistent 7. But when Purdue ran around him to score, how slow did he look? It looked like Blake Lawrie of previous years. Sloan probably would have missed the tackle but at least he would have gotten there to make an attempt. Might have made Purdue try to run around him at a steeper angle allowing Fale to get back and make the tackle.

Atkinson is a 6, I'd leave him there and bring Sloan in at 1. As long as Flanno is not there otherwise it wont matter who you pick.

LKT deserves another chance. He does good things at times. I bet a better coach could have him do good things much more. He digs into the line with the option of passing, kicking or running himself. He has potential. He deserves another chance. His long kicking and defence was much improved from last season.
