Round 6 v Manly

What caught my eye watching the Tigers play the Eels yesterday, young Madden in attack ran to the line with plenty of speed and then passing to a support runner. Our halves don't do that. Doueihi was great as the half back. He is a very good reader of play.

We need to get our attack in order but I feel our defence has gone down the tube and Manly have several long range try scorers in their team so cut them down and not let them run amok.
Even though Madden was wearing the number 6 and Doueihi the number 7, I thought Madden was playing halfback and Doueihi 5/8 that last 2 weeks. I do like Doueihi at halfback. Luai is due back next week. Some were even suggesting Marshall may keep Madden in the halves when Luai returns and move Doueihi to centre. But they also have Starford Toa and Taylan May due back by round 8.

Can’t figure out what position Doueihi is but is in great form anyway. Touted young half Latu also happy to bide his time to stay there. Good problems to have

What a total f$#k up, leave the forwards alone, they are not the problem. It's the backs that are a mess. Just tinker with Cook/Liddle, Val back to the left, Sloane at FB. We all know where the problem will be. We had a year of it last year with no results. Reed is a funny one, do I want him coming into this side right now with all our other issues, no way !!! Desperate times call for desperate measures, maybe he gets a few minutes at HB, with KF somewhere else, I dont know. And then you have Guler trotted out to the media saying they want to play for Flanno, please spare me, what happened to playing for Flanno 4 weeks ago ? If Manly end up smacking us it will be 2 embarrassing displays at both our home grounds, and that will sit squarely on the club in the way they have handled this mess.

Spot on. This is most of the team that we needed this week. Plenty of skill and power.
Wincing at new #7. Nepotism Flanagan, you should be sacked for that alone. And where the f*ck is the culling you threatened. I still see Tuipulotu, Guler, Kerr. And why has Loko Tonga been removed from the bench. He, Jake and Kade shud have started and your son demoted to Ressies. Pleased Tu is back but only has the gig due to Fale suspension.

Some talk in other forum that this week has been a huge shift in mentality.. big honesty sessions with the leadership group, team/coach dinner... couple of team changes, day off to reset, expecting a real siege effort @ WIN on Friday.. I mean if that's not enough to get the win we are truly toast in 2026.. but we will find out.

...but he is reinstating Kyle. If Flanagan sees his son as the better organiser of the two he deserves shooting. This poor excuse for a head coach is now also putting himself offside with his boss who insisted Atkinson play #7 this season.
They appear to have made a grave error in judgement with young Atkinson trying to turn him into something he has never been. I've always said he was a 6

Talk is cheap rev. Let’s see if they have the balls and smarts to actually do it

The thing is I don't think it's been an effort type issue, it's more with team selections & tactics. Team selection hasn't really changed, I doubt Flanno & coaches would change tactics. Even if they win, it doesn't change the inevitable imo. The team selections & tactics don't work under current rules.
