Anyone know why we let all our young wingers and local juniors go in the last 3 yrs? Bostock has always been an athletic winger with promise.
Griffin was our head coach when Bostock left us for the Dolphins and as the saying goes, we cannot keep them all, unfortunately. Gee he is what we need now as a centre preferably than as a winger. Tall and rangy and fast. Reminds me of Mark Gasnier. His contract ends at end of 2027 but he most probably will stay up there as his sister is up there now as well.

I very much doubt China cares one bit.
You are very naive. The CRL (Chinese Rugby League) are monitoring the situation closely. They are deeply concerned about the effect the Luai signing will have on China's economic and strategic interests in the region. They are countering by expanding the CRL into Indonesia. The Jakarta Monsoon are scheduled to join the CRL in 2029. I am told that Munster is already a done deal. Expect an announcement soon.

LKT? Yea ok mate 🤣 that's hilarious
Personally I don't have an issue with you not rating LKT. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But what I don't get, not so much here but on another forum, how there seems to be an unwritten rule with Dragons fans. There are some players you can criticise and some you can't. Until recently Kyle was one who you couldn't criticise and until very recently, Atkinson was another. A couple of years ago Blake Lawrie was another.

As for LKT, it's been open season on him since he debuted as an 18 year-old.

He has to work on some areas of his game but with a good coach working with him, behind a good pack and paired with a decent halfback, there is a lot to work with and I certainly wouldn't rule out him becoming a good, long-tern first grade 5/8.

Until now I suspect the former coach didn't want to work with him on his game and publicly crticised him. He was behind a pack already considered lightweight then without some of the best forwards for the whole season or a large part of the season. Finally he was partnered with probably the worst halfback to play 100 or more games in the history of the NRL.

He's a very talented young kid who still has a lot of improvement in him.

If only he was as lucky to have as much chances as Kyle Flanagan had

Even though his defence has improved, I wonder if we can afford to have him and Reed playing together. His defence has improved but still not good. Might have to wait until next year to see him and Reed together in first grade. Until both of them have improved their defence.

Maybe but over the last couple of weeks, Atkinson's defence has been just as bad as LKTs was last season.

We were all in on the twins and it cost us ...
Bostock/Schiller/Morkos were picked off because we were more interested in the likes of Lomax/Feagai x 2 plus we had Rava/Suli/Ramsey/Bird on board.

I understand their decisions to leave us but hindsight shows we really pulled the wrong lever on the twins.

They did have a very good junior CV though ...
f*ck recruitment and pathways.

Could and should have kept Bostock even if we were high on Fegais.

Schiller and Morkos haven’t burned us and I think the Feagai’s are better than both of them but Bostock looked like an obvious gun

Was so good to watch in SG ball the year dolphins pinched him, physically he’s on another level to Buchanan/Feagai bro’s. long dynamic and a real aerial threat

Heidke probably a better ball carrier than him from what I’ve seen but that’s only a very small part of being a first grade outside back

Could and should have kept Bostock even if we were high on Fegais.

And when you only have 30 NRL contracts and 6 Supplementary deals it is an impossibility to keep them all .. you have to make decisions on who you think will and who you think wont make it ... You simply cannot stockpile multiple untried juniors in those roles if other clubs come knocking esp a new club with 36 empty roster spots. You need the balance of experience/talent and promise.

No club keeps everyone, but the better clubs generally make a better fist of retaining the right players - we havent done that in recent times.

The mistake was not valuing Bostock highly enough compared to the players we decided to retain.
If feagai x 2/Ramsey/Lomax/Suli/Sloan kicked on like we had hoped this converation is null and void ... we made decisions rating some juniors above others and made mistakes ...

Being bent over by player agents doesnt help either. Some agents in particular seem to want to hold us over a barrell with players encouraging them to try and get out of deals or hold off signing until the favour deals are also made. Cancerous merkins.
