hmmm well that explains why we would have dropped out of the race, and annoying cause he would have been the perfect plug to all our depth issues 1-5.Tigers set to sign Averillo for 4 years $2.75 Mil
Jesus wept that’s a big contract, would have blown everyone out of the water
We are below quota on ‘Latus’ nowLatu Fainu off contract and tigers consider Javon Andrews the long term 6
I’d take him for sure
I'd defo go for Latu Fainu. Not only is he a good player with a very high ceiling, but the potential to try lure his brothers too could be a smart play to make. I'd do it in a heartbeatLatu Fainu off contract and tigers consider Javon Andrews the long term 6
I’d take him for sure, he’s what Ah Kee was 5 years ago for manly in Matt’s when they won it
Just needs a good injury free run and his ceiling is so high
I think it could be similar to the Liddle situation at tigers, an obviously good player with a bad injury record who moves to a club with good medico’s and BOOM, career best form
I prefer Taulagi but either one of the two would be ok.there are a few random rumours out there tonight, that we are talking to DWZ and Taulagi, both of whom have been told they won't be re-signed.. both pure wingers which is not my first choice.. but there isnt a winger in cup coming any time soon.. and atleast Buchanan/Heidke are a chance in ctr's.. still need to find that backup fullback though... still need someone to bridge until Burto is rdy... if indeed Burton even comes thru at fullback.
As for Healey, seems a surprise they'd move him on, but we definitely will go to market come Nov 1st.. for our 2028 Watson replacement.
Tbf they’ve locked down the other Fainu brother sione + with Samuela they are preparing a big long term dealMaybe like the May's the Fainu's are just bad news and we wouldnt want them culturally.
We’re already starting to see this nowIf they eventually go to those 2 extra teams in 2030 they have to go back to the pre covid rules, too many injuries and teams will rip through the top 30 and it’ll be reserve grade players in half the lineups by round 20
They said 20 teams, which means 1 extra team after Bears and Chiefs..If this news v’landys has come out with about 2 more teams in 2030 with a 2nd NZ team and an Ipswich team comes to fruition the level of talent in the league will be so diminished
There will be maybe 15-17 NRL level players in each squad and the rest will be fringe first graders or young 18/19 YO’s not ready for first grade
Can’t stress enough how bad V’landys has been for the actual spectator side of the sport. Blowout games and less jeopardy. Much less of a spectacle for each game and now the quality of teams is reduced even more

Players are playing longer also. 20 years ago guys playing to the age of Cook, DCE, Hunt would have been almost unprecedented. Now it's almost normal. I imagine the PNG team in particular will result in a lot more talent from the area finding its way into first grade. Perth to a lesser extent. This shouldn't bring about any noticeable drop off in the quality of players. Something the AFL has had a lot of trouble with.Ispwich (or something including west brisbane) + 2nd NZ is perfection... 2030 not that far away mind you.. just means the average age of all 20 teams needs to come down.. puts more emphasis on that pathway development 16-20yr old etc..
I bet the next 2 teams get some sort of incentive also, esp if Perth struggle as expected.
