Had to listen on audio only (not easy with kiwi commentators), and just watched the highlights then.. was a pretty dominant win for us, we should have put them away a few times in the 2nd half..
Both their tries had tonnes of b***sh** in them, where as ours were more conventional tries...
It was very weird hearing Ennis essentially going through the 17 man squad and praising everyone lol.. not used to hearing a media commentator do that..
But its all pi$$ing in the wind at this stage, hasnt even started the gig yet.. also he wont know who the 4or5 recruits will be.. and he didnt...
Ennis was on SEN, did say he will still be working at fox, but on days hes not needed for gameday etc.. um and did mention aspirations of head coaching at some stage.
tbf giving Ennis the reigns is even crazier than Ballin.. has Ennis had any head or assistant experience at all? Bar I know he helps a few clubs with skills and what not.
Should be zero rush for any of these guys to be looking for Head Coaching gigs imo.. assistant roles are easy to get...
Does Mason have a 2nd year of Ball? If thats the case thats a rly good thing.. just assumed he had been disregarded as I hadnt seen him play Flegg all year.
And yeah Ennis could just be floating through.. might depend how it goes I guess.. good on his resume either way.
Shame we dont have any young hookers coming through.. bit of a gap between Liddle and is it Champan perhaps.. guess there is Hjalatason and Fagalilo maybe. We probably need to work out what we are doing with those 2, i.e. do we need to get a body in that 19-22yr old range... and then also...
Happy with this one, we need new blood/voices, and this is good publicity also.. Won't hinder recruitment... It's also flannos first assistant he actually got to choose...
Flanno and Ennis go way back, Ennis might me spreading his roots around for a few years to ready himself for head coaching...
I think every club has one, ours is Haran currently, but id rather it be someone like Frank Ponissi.. and the role he does for the Storm, everyone raves about him....if u hear him on the radio hes very astute.... or Gus Gould at the Dogs... more good footy brains in the organisation is a very...
If I remember last year, after mad monday there was atleast a month if not 2 months where Flanno was doing player debriefs and staff debriefs and what not.. and then kicking into the preperation for 2026.. essentially you can rest when ur dead or something if ur a head coach.
The good thing is...
I get why we didnt go after Sandon, he was probably a stop gap 7.. wouldnt have minded him for 2yrs.. but he is tbf quite similar to Atkinson and LKT.
Still.. even though is an absolute footy player in Atkinson, starting 7 is a 'lot' of responsibility to pick up in an off season.. its all the...
Yep agree we do have a lot of 'mobile forwards' most of them 20-22yrs of age, but they still need atleast 1 big dawg to lead them around.. I know Klemmer isnt gods gift at his age, but if we are arent going to sign any more props for 2026.. then 1 more year for Klem.. so be it... again 'manage...
I dont think anybody knows the 17 for next year, beacuse we dont know who we are going to be able to recruit yet... I know the big clubs get to actually recruit who they want, but we have had to be flexible..
I have no doubt we did and maybe still are trying to find a marquee 7, but nobody...
I cant think of a 7 we are going to find in the off-season (assuming DCE went to rorters).. and after we let Glover go and I dont think we will sign another of his stature in the game.. i.e. I think its a genuine first grade 7 or nothing... and I think Reed is the only young prospect in our...
Yeah I think LPT/Egan/Halangahu/Couchmen/CST are sort of setting a benchmark that isnt normal in terms of age for forward development... Liu is more a normal trajectory as Jack was.. get 1-2 years of Flegg & 2 full years of NSW Cup under ur belt... then come into 1sts somewhere between 22-24yrs...
