this doesnt surprise me sadly.. feel like they will let 1 of Hammer or Herbie go to clear funds and get Jack done..
Would be different if Jack had some desire to come home, but ive never heard any word out of his mouth that indicates that he does.. I think we just rly want to right the wrongs...
its tricky though cause if you have 12 dev spots per team, thats 6 more gun juniors the rorters and dogs etc can hog.. granted those kids still need to see a pathway into 1st grade eventually, or they will still want out.
But yeah it is tough with just 6 cause there are a lot of good kids who...
Over the years I always had Votano and Faulalo in the same camp.. untested in 1st grade, killing it in reserves.. killing us when we play em.. long queue in front at their club... I just wanted 1 of em ahead of Sloan... but we missed Faulalo in particular who now seems a class above anywhere...
I'm not sure the $ numbers, but I was always thought the parra deal was crazy.. was advertised as being a 2yr deal.. but it was always 1 of them in the clubs favour.. at his age thats a 1yr deal.. he could have stayed a 1 club man.
you would think if some of those experienced players dont make the 17 or 19.. maybe they look to move on early.. but by mid next year its a bit late for us to replace them.
There is also Buchanan.. but I still wonder if there wont be 1 or 2 like him who might move on a year early if they do...
I like ur take! There is definitely a player in Val I agree and we probably dont give him the ball he needs to really use his strengths.. which you would think will happen outside Nikorima + the threat of Drinkwater.. we do need to sort ourselves out defensively but thats what the pre-season is...
if Sloan stays it means Val has to stay @left-ctr.. im on the fence about it, I feel like Sami and Val r our 2 best wingers.. but I dunno where we would source 2 centres from..
From Sloans perspective I thought the UK would have been a real life-changing experience for him.. would have matured...
As others have mentioned.. rly stoked to get a win to finish the season on a high.. sing the song.. reset the losing streak and go into a fresh year with no baggage + farewell the old crew.. I rly thought the Eels would be all over us, but they went off the boil in the 2nd half.. was rly happy...
Jacob is still a bit young and still converting from the 2nd row.. Webster is 2.5yrs older.. its a hard one to manage these young forwards, they came thru earlier than they really should and we have to keep them patient.... LPT is in the middle of those 2.. but as Rufus mentioned.. he has size.
naa Reed hasnt played any flegg games.. shame cause it would have been srsly useful.. but im glad for the cup time has has gotten.. even the first grade time despite it not being wonderful results... the hand injury did miss him a fair few games though.
Its hard to imagine us beating penrith with our halves injured.. even if Marley plays.. its a big ask.. but if we get the win thats another 2 weeks off again...
tbf the raiders have a very good side in general despite their record this year.. and they were minor premiers 12mths before.. so its a pretty good side to come into, but he is clearly playing way above his age @20yrs.... and I dont mind Reed getting his debut @ anzac day, in hindsight we were @...
Just attaching the graphic from nsw cup for the 5 team finals to check how it works.. Saints play Penrith next weekend... if we win we get another week off and a grand final.. if we lose, we take on the winner of the Sharks v Dogs in Week 3.
We salvaged a draw with them with a last minute try...
1000% I am genuinely feeling its a 50/50 flip of the coin that he is there in Round 1.. hopefully take the goalkicking training off him also over the pre-season, leave it to Drinkwater and Val as #2.
Gus mentioned it recently, that at the end of the year they need to go away and re-assess the...
