I was legit happy to see Ford moved on though at the time.. him and Host we persevered with for years.. Leilua also was touch and go for me.... but Ford was also not big enough for the middle back then.. and he was pretty average in the 2nd row.. had a lot of errors in him and he was a small...
yep its tough.. especially if the young ones have rival clubs chasing them.. aka Stewart who had several.. we all thought the club was crazy to offer a 4yr contract back when he rly was just an average reserve grade player.. but a kid who literally lived at the dragons with his dad, was ready to...
But that was one of those rly gritty games, Roosters have talent galore in their spine but we just bashed them and went thru the middle.
Was worried when Burton came down heavy from an aerial collision, similar to heidke, I do worry about players going so high and potentially coming down...
They have been letting kirk and part timers kick in both grades all year (while Hammoud and reed have been out, sometimes even over hodges), I dont get it, seems like at some pt Burton has asked or been asked not to goalkick anymore... Or maybe just to focus on the other aspects.. Cause he used...
looks like they will let us trial the new kick-off rule also in certain games (now that we are out of finals contention), I've always been keen on this rule change, even though I know it triggers a lot of people who like things to stay 'as is'.
thats my feelings as well on the first half of it, was just running (slowly) into open gaps and one where he caught a bomb.. not dissing him I know we were looking at him a few years back, but he looks a bit big and solid, he would be an absolute speculator on a bare bones deal perheaps.. but...
Gardiner has about 10yrs head coaching experience across all grades, can explain complex strategy simply... was absolutely the next best candidate..
He's no guarantee of success of course.. almost no coach is... but if they are going to take a punt.. seems it was always going to be on Deano...
I just listened too Gus saying that the Roosters have been doing enough to get by.. hopping on 1-foot.... but: one of these games the Roosters are going to explode... there is a stellar performance coming ..... seems that performance was tonight.
Hodges has a few years in flegg iirc, i.e. already has a few years experience on Reed and co.. so will be good to have him as a supplementary player... not sure how well it would translate up the grades.. but only one way to find out.. gonna have to be patient now to see how cup goes next year...
I would have thought for any elite athlete, smoking anything wasnt remotely a thing... and the NRL is essentially a battle of which squad is fitter, and the standard is e-l-i-t-e led by the panthers... they can keep that pace up for 80+ minutes... so smoking of any type assumably decreases your...
So 3 spots left in that 30 and 3 spots left Supplementary, more if we can offload a veteran.. or we let go a young one go 12mths early like LKT or Buchanan (if we dont extend them)..
I'm still nervous about fullback and hooker depth, but gutho/kyle technically on the books still... and still...
Seems like 2 x Couchies and LPT are all pretty happy.. so hopefully no need to go to Nov 1st...
Halangahu not sure but not as concerned if we have the other 3 locked up... not sure how sure how much cash he wants, sort of wouldnt even mind extending 1yr or 2yrs and then we will all know.. but...
He's been there 3yrs which surprises me.. I mean they have improved over those 3yrs, esp early this year before it all went to poo.. im sure its not his fault.. but yeah who knows lol.. I wouldnt want 2 rookie assistants though under Dean..
Probably a fair point that Nick although not a ctr might be comparable.. Nick does get found out defending the goalline though... when they run fast men across him.. he is genuinely toast . Atkinson probably not bad depth either.. I still want to see him with a preseason though doing 'something'...
