Scott Drinkwater most underrated player in the comp?

People genuinely don’t rate him because of his defence despite the fact he’s top 5 nearly every year in dally M and a try creating machine

I think there will be moments next year where we can’t stand him but overall his quality will be why he gets our POTY next season

Completely changes the attack into a top 8 level offense

Can have moments under the high ball and defensively but creativity, speed, smarts and try scoring opportunities are up there as top 3. Glad to have him on board and with the others coming too will make a massive difference

If i have a choice of winning a game 40-38 or losing it 12-10 then i choose to win ...
Drinky will let in points, but unlike Nuffo he will create them too ... With Drinky/Kodi we have two of the best players in the comp at creating line breaks ... the couchies and stewart will thrive off that as will the spine ... what remains to be seen is if we have 2/3/4/5 that can also thrive.

I was pretty enthusiastic about Nuffo at first. But now he lets a lot of tries in through his inability to get in position to make the tackle. He gets run over on more than his fair share of occasions as well. I think Drinkwater is going to a massive upgrade.

I'm not expecting any attacking revolution from our coaching staff.. so if were gonna do something its going to be off the back of Drinkwater+Nikorima+Metcalf (if he stays fit), theyre gonna have to run the show I would think.

The positive we have is our forward pack should be able to hold their own if KK/Egan/Stewart/Liddle/Watson stay fit.. im nervous that we dont have much coverage in a few positions (hooker, 2nd row, fullback, ctr, halfback if Reed isnt rdy). One of the criticisms of the Cows is that when their forward pack struggles, their backs keep throwing it anyway and thats when they fall over.. so hopefully we can see a solid forward pack with an improved kicking game.. and make the lives of our backs easier..

No doubt we still need 1 or 2 OB's, and some sort of depth for hooker and potentially a few other positions.. still not 100% sure if anyone is leaving early yet.. we have to wait for Nov 1 probably.

Dont forget LPT Rev, he's coming along nicely, Halangahu to have a breakout year, Webster in there as well. I think we are ok fwd wise, Watson I would think might back up Liddle. Center is where I'm worried about.

Can we improve his defense at the Dragons ? So our wingers will have to do their fair share of catching the high ball, Sami will be one, and the other ??? TU maybe ??

I don't think his defence is even that bad. It's certainly not his strong point and compared to his attack, he'd have to tackle like JDB for his defence to match up.
