Not meaning to be disrespectful (to the players), but almost all our real gun Flegg players have moved up a grade (excluding Hammoud/Reed), even some of the emerging ones today noting Justas post.. big ask for the side to be competitive.
It is what it is though, just development opportunity... cant make finals anyway so really no pressure.

That’s a good point, unless a teams cup side is very good most 19/20 YO’s who are ‘that’ good will be playing cup

It happens very often someone who no one predicted would make it in his teens kicks on to make it in his early 20s and surpass the teens who everyone thought would make it.

I know RVH, sorry. I just "ain't" going to be negative for a while. Others I know feel like you about Mr Flanagan. I'm giving him the better part of next year to see how he is trending. He has no real excuse from now on with Anderson being the head Recruitment guy and no doubt both he and Flanno would need to be on the same page as to who should be recruited and who should be booted and as Anderson is head of R & R, he should have the final say.

Actually I see what you mean, I mean we r right in this flegg game, but the raiders r big and strong.. with bugger all raiders injuries in first grade.. no doubt it flows down the grades..

Rewatched the game for the first of at least 100 times, one of the things I noticed and LOVED?
LKT’s defence was so bloody good, his best all round performance by a mile. Genuinely didn’t give Nikora/Hynes/Ramien a sniff
You could say it about all the young guys today actually but I thought particularly with his defence being put under the microscope of late he stood up and worked on it which is all you can ask from a player
Never been more glad to be wrong about a player than I was with Hamish Stewart, was very suss about him getting a top 30 deal when he hadn’t shown much IMO in junior grades but he’s got everything you’d want from a forward
I think the last 2 games we genuinely wouldn’t have won if LKT hadn’t played which speaks volumes about his growth as a player from last season
Think it HAS to be LKT and Atkinson in the halves next year

I dont know what happened with Dearden and the Cowboys, but the main thing is LKT continues to learn from and grow.. if so he can stay put, if he plateaus he can either drop back a grade for a short period or a long one.. im still not 100% sold on him.. I think he has to be a genuinely scary running threat.. i.e. he has to break tackles like all the good 6's do.. and today he did that.. the main thing is hes getting better.. and if he stays fit (and touch wood hes been pretty resilient) id be really curious to see what he looks like with another preseason under his belt...
Atkinson manufactured into a 7 I think is a really interesting idea.. im rly interested in it tbh.. though it is a risk... and there will be a lot of pressure in the early 2026 rounds.. that said we are clearly after a good 7.. and with Glover (and hopefully Ilias) moving on, there is room for 1 more half.. you need 3.. look at Ethan Sanders for Canberra (they have Adam Cook also) or Pezet for the Storm, or any of about 5 options at the Roosters.. they all have a slightly younger guy in reserve grade ready to go..
I feel like almost every club has their halves sorted for 2026.. possibly Pezet still to end up at Newcastle, I think the last clubs left are us and maybe the Raiders.. and the last half I can think of on the market is Sandon Smith and perhaps Jayden Campbell.. so maybe we end up with 1 of those.. or maybe we just go with Atko & LKT.. not sure.. but we need a 3rd. It is sounding more like the Titans want to keep Campbell now.. but surely they just cant keep AJ, Campbell and Kini.. not unless theyve decided Campbell is a 7 now..

I'd rather we keep Sloan than bring back Saab. Both speedy, both poor defence but Sloan loves the Dragons while Saab rubbished our set up so he could join Manly and be coached by ol' Des who got the bullet.

Im not really a Saab fan, always thought he was a bit of a cat.. but hes a much bigger body than Sloan, good in the air which we need.. main issue is the long contract, and he doesnt cover fullback.. so we would still need to look into that.. Clearly Faulalo wants to stay @ manly, i feel for sure we would have enquired already.. and hes stuck behind tommy and hopoate there.. and still happy to bide his time.

I have no doubt we have the most free money of any club to go after this man (and we will), however whether we can pull him off numerous other clubs who will go after him too, probably with big TPA's on top... we shall see.. cause its Nov 1 for a 2027 signing.. everyone has time to sharpen up their offers and shed some players to make it happen...

Is he worth over 1mil a season? I'd be in favour of only signing a hooker who plays for 80min, halfback, 5/8 or fullback for that money.
