Kade Reed​

After getting his first taste of pre-season football last season, Kade Reed will enter this year’s pre-season after a strong campaign in various junior representative competitions at the Under-19s and Under-21s level, as well as making his NSW Cup debut.

A talented halfback, the youngster has been earmarked as a key piece of the Dragons’ future and also as their answer to the halves woes - an area that they have continually struggled to get right despite using multiple players in the position and various combinations.

The Patrician Brothers’ Blacktown graduate possesses all the ability of a future NRL star which includes great agility, speed, basic skills, footy intelligence and a strong kicking ability.

Other Players to Watch: Charles Heidke, Cyrus Stanley-Traill, Jesse Williams, Ryan Hutchison

Rokko didnt have much of an impact, they didnt give him much good ball in the HM game.

The steelers number 7 (i dont know his name without a team list) looked very good and created a lot of their tries.

I think your thinking of Noah Fitzgerald (Steelers #7)

He was the 7 for the NSWCHS 15’s side that won the state tournament 18 months ago but tore his ACL and missed the Steelers Matt’s season just gone

Looks a big talent and should be a big upgrade on the 2 halves that had played instead of him with all due respect

He looked awsome, very controlling, good running and passing game, but VERY small.

unless Jasais Ah Kee doesn’t qualify because he won’t play due to injury, this list can’t be taken seriously

Ah Kee should be top 10 and he’s not even cracked the list

Creighton has endless potential.. is he playing SG Ball a year young? I'm endlessly confused where they pull the line in the sand for 17yr olds in U17s and 19yr olds in U19..

Hope his brother Daniel has been training well also.. wasnt too far behind Latu and CST at one point, and another whos had 2 long injuries.. havent seen him really killing it since 2024.

Its a weird set up with the laurie daley and andrew johns cup... The fact that ollie burton could be 2 years off SG Ball is bizzare, yet Weatherall went straight from HM to SG this year..

I remember Mug said Weatherall absolutely went early into SG.. so this will be his 3rd year if he does actually end up playing that grade.

But yeah maybe Ayios or Mailroom might know the hard and fast rule used as the age cutoff.. Maybe its a January 1st age check or something..

It is a good sign to see players playing up and age group or 2. It indicates they can handle playing against players older than them.

The archive.md website gets a work out during the season for me.. some of the news sites have worked out how to side-step it though, Code Sports pages for example I have had no luck with.. or any article that is split over multiple pages.. only the first one gets archived.

Just on that, has anyone actually taken out a Code Sports sub? I am tempted and I know its a $1 trial.. but for someone who spends so much time on footy forums, I really know everything news worthy anyway.. dont really need it summarised... but I do like their podcast.. they r my fave of the content creators.. but the podcast is free already so yeah..

The rules are pretty simple.
You turn 16 17 that year you play Matts
You turn 17 18 that year you play SGB

Johns and Daley are regional and unlike HMC and SGB you have to live in the area to play.

Steelers kids get that advantage of the extra years of reps.
But any player who is good enough misses them and plays 2 years of HMC SGB. Ollie CJ Api, Kade Jasais the Pupualii twins etc.

Leeroy technical is in his 3rd year, he was given an exemption to play one SGB game at 17 due to a large injury toll.

A side note to that,
The Pupualii twins birthday is the last day of the year, a day later and they are playing Matts.

Fletcher Couchman

Position: Five-Eighth

Skills: Speed, Running game, Step / Footwork, Tackle-buster, Vision

He brings a familiar name and even with it even bigger expectations, but make no mistake, Fletcher Couchman already has his own style.

The younger brother of twins Ryan and Toby, Fletcher couldn’t be more different, a versatile running five eighth that can produce the unexpected with the ball in hand.

The youngster’s stepping game, low centre of gravity and speedy traits often put him into space untouched by defenders.

With the ability to turn mundane plays into attacking opportunities, Couchman will be an exciting prospect heading into his first season of Harold Matts.
