I have no doubt that the powers to be will go in that direction. I personally don’t agree with that as I believe he’s as much to blame over the last couple of years but whatever it is it is. I will continue to support the club even if it’s DY. I’m sure I’ll get over it eventually

Flanagan is "under no pressure to hold his job" says our BOD. Well he bloody well should be. This is spelling out to us fans that our club is fine with mediocrity from its head coach. This new management is no better than the last and needs to be changed if this club is to prosper.

Only. Harsh to judge him on that. He has done his apprenticeship, give him the full gig. If not him Willie Talau. Moot point as Watsford wants to keep Flanagan. Wonder if Seibold was told that before Manly BOD sacked him. He too had been handed a two yr extension.

All I can say as my last thing on this matter, as I have already said several things previously, decisions will be made one way or another and at the appropriate time. Until then, the games continue irrespective of who is the Coach.

If Flanno does get sacked, then Dean Young would be the red hot favourite to replace him. Young was assistant coach for us from 2015 to 2020, then he was assistant at Nth Qld from 2021 to 2023. He then came back to be assistant coach for us from 2024 to now. He has been positioned to be our next coach. I have read someone who talks to Tim Watsford said to him that Dean Young will be a first grade coach in the future or words to that effect. He may be a good coach, but many of us fans are of the belief he is there because of his father's influence, who was our recruitment officer in 2012, then had other titles including integrity officer, then the Chairman of the Board and a director until 2023. I think or at least thought he was still wielding influence over the club, but can not confirm it. There is also paper talk that Nth Qld could be interested in signing him, if/when they sack Payten. Personally I would like to see him coach a team first, even a English Superleague team.

I am wondering if part of the deal of Flanno taking the job of head coach was for Dean Young to be his assistant? I am also wondering if that was the deal Ryles was offered?
Dragons spine is not up to NRL standard. But the solution is staring us right in the face; move Gutherson to 7 and give him the keys. When Bennett arrived at the Dragons in 2008 (?) he moved Ben Hornby from fullback to halfback and the rest is premiership history. Move Atkinson to 6 which will give him the space to kick-control….just like Soward did. Do it now, coach

I believe the official story is that Ryles was told Bellamy was going to retire and Ryles was next in line. Then Bellamy back-flipped.
That’s the story I heard and nothing to do with these ludicrous demands that he placed on the board which they denied

Yeah mate you could just picture it, calling our team weak as piss , what he says at the end though couldn't be truer.
If Lyhkan doesn't work out I think this would be worth a shot. It puts some speed at the back with Sloan, moves Atkinson to is favoured position which should help is running game and I think Gutho has the smarts to guide the side around the paddock.
