If it's true he is on 400k a year, as Weilder reported, the person who allowed Flanno to do that needs to be arrested! I very much doubt it's true. Someone unsigned and not wanted by any club until his dad was signed to be head coach isn't on 400k a year.

Too early to say for sure but at this stage Woods vs Reed looks like Finau Latu vs Hamish Stewart.

cant rly run 2 at a time though.. hard enough to develop thr 1 we already have.. hoping we got it right with keeping Kade over Rodwell, and hopefully better than Woods.. early days.

I think Finau Latu is a prop, but I getchya.. def happy with Stewart staying, horrible thinking Bennett almost snagged him.

I'm so over this farce but I couldn't resist commenting on this.
“There were a few reasons why I made my decision. Obviously results and the pressure and not winning footy games but Kyle came into it as well.

“It was tough but at the time when he came to the club, Ben Hunt was halfback. We had Junior Amone and Jayden Sullivan as well. We brought Kyle to be our No. 14 and wanted to eventually transition him into hooker.

“Ben Hunt left, Junior Amone was suspended and Jayden went to the Tigers and we didn’t envisage all those things happening."

Jayden Sullivan "went to the Tigers"? Or another way to say it is that even after it became apparent Junior Amone was almost certainly going to be suspended for a while, you told Bud Sullivan he was no longer wanted so he went to the Tigers.

And note the actual order of events:
1. EVERYONE became aware that Junior Amone was going to be in big trouble and would be unavailable to play in 2024.
2. Shane Flanagan was signed as Dragons coach.
3. Shane Flanagan told Sullivan (under contract with Dragons till end of 2025) to look elsewhere for 2024. He signed with Tigers.
4. Kyle Flanagan was signed by the Dragons.

One more thing. Why would you sign a halfback so that you could "transition him into a hooker"? Why not just sign one of the many hookers available?

Nothing about it makes sense unless looking at it from the perspective of Flanno only caring about manufacturing a spot in the team for Kyle by any means necessary and willing to engage in any amount of verbal gymnastics to try to justify it. I'm just glad one of then is gone and Deano and DA have to move to get rid of the other ASAP.
