Long time lurker here. The Penrith comparison is spot on — the scary part is both Couchmans off contract end of 2027. Do we know if the club has started talks with them yet, or does that usually wait until Nov 1?

welcome, and the big 4 young ones all extended recently in Couchies, Halangahu, LPT... still a few more lower tier players that might hit Nov 1, guys like Buchanan and NickyT but the big ones are locked in.

His contract with us is till end of 2028, so I guess he can potentially go to market end of 2027 but hopefully we will have a pretty good grasp on the plan with him well before then.

I know there is a huge amount of bad luck in injuries and you might be the victim of a bad hip-drop etc.. but Ollie has had a rly clean run of minimal injuries this last few years.. very refreshing.. injuries rly nuke promising careers.. talent that cant stay fit.. will likely never get there... as cruel as it is to say it like that... there are exceptions like Teddy.. but it feels like guys like Liddle and Metcalf for example will almost be part-timers for us.

This is why we definitely cannot put all our goodies in the one basket and have several goodies coming through the ranks to be back ups - for most part of the season with the types of injuries these two cop causing them to be out for longish periods.

Liddle will be fine. He did a hamstring on either leg but I don't think there is any indication it's something which is an issue with him the way it is for Tom Trbojevic or Metcalf. That's why Reed has to be given the last 2 games. He'll probably be needed next year more than anticipated.
