I am trying to think who were our centres wingers for cup last year as well?

I thought in the latter part of the year, Heidke came back from injury and Burton was promoted. I think Rumble got a few games on the wing. We also have Buchanan. But he didn't improve at all from the previous year which was very disappointing. I guess he's just not big enough to be a centre. Maybe he can turn himself into a fullback. Has a good passing game so why not?

I continue to have high hopes for Heidke after a full off season not interrupted by injury. But frankly speaking, for all 3 of Heidke, Buchanan and Rumble, this is the make or break year IMO. They aren't that young anymore. Are they 3 years older than Burton?

Isn't Heidke on a development contract? I hope by some stage of next season the backline is:

1. Drinkwater
2. Sami
3. Burton
4. Heidke
5. Holmes
6. Nikorima
7. Metcalf

I know Burton will only be 18 but he isn't in the top 30 for fun. If Deano and Dan Anderson didn't see him playing NRL, surely they would have him on a development contract.

And waiting just behind them we have:

• Reed
• LKT/Hodges
• Rumble

Only after that:

• Atkinson
• Tu
• Fale
• Flanagan

As for Suli, someone mentioned him playing in the backrow. IMO this is a good idea. He could even play prop! He's easily bigger than Rueban Cotter.

ah ffs.. i was rly keen to see if anyone could topple Gutho.. last years race was reported on Nov 15th, so about 2 weeks from now.. assume thats about when the bulk of the squad gets back.

Burton played 1 token nsw cup game only.. rly focussed on U21's.. same with Heidke iirc he missed most season with I think was an achilles.. came back straight into cup and had a horrific KO in his first game.. took ages to come back and finished the year in U21's also.. Rumble has 11 games in cup now, hes just turned 21 though.. hes 3yrs in front of the others.. more physically ready..

I still think Toby, Morkos, Buchanan, Heidke, TPH (along with the other guys mentioned).. any one of those could potentially play some first grade if things went to sh** with injuries.. I just rly hope 1 or 2 or 3 of em have a break out.. thats how rosters are meant to flow.. young one demands selection and you can keep freshening things up.. cover injuries.. move on players that are still wanted by other clubs.

There is also Kirk but I still dont understand what position he could play, hes not quick enough for a winger or fullback imo.

Hopefully the bull tears up pre season and gets some luck in 2027. Perfect for the bench. Strong defensively, fit and a tad fiesty. Perfect mix haha
