Even more reason to have Nick on the bench. Egan can start, punch out 50 odd mins then Nick can come on and play the leftover mins for Egan
That's how teams defend, they compact right in, the issue for us is we have backs who are slower than our forwards, It ain't Feagai's fault, if he goes marking the winger there is a massive gap between him and the centre
I agree mate, the winger is always blamed. There’s a reason (most times) why they come in. Feagai is better than what he dished up on Anzac Day.
Agreed... he's been our most consistent outside back all year (ok and yes its a low bar in 2026).. but all the fans have turned on him like this is every time he plays.. its not at all.. maybe he has an injury or maybe dropping that first bomb threw him.. I dunno what happened cause he must catch 1000 of those at training, and he totally stuffed a virtually uncontested kick.
Like all of the players, confidence is gone. After that dropped bomb he dropped his head. Roosters then went to town on the back 3. I wouldn’t be throwing Matt away due to this game. Like I said, he’s better than that and he’ll bounce back.
I do understand the point you are making and I absolutely agree about the lack of speed in the backs. However it makes no sense to have all your defence in the middle third or thereabouts, while the opposition has a winger, a centre and a lurking fullback at, or beyond your edge defence - especially if you have a slow backine. All it takes is a half with sufficient composure to engage our edge guys and send the ball through the hands - try time every time.

Then that is where he shud've played for us as he has stunk on the wing. Wrong Richie, as he was too slow for either position. I will say tho he has played his best footy in Ressies.
maybe.. I like those 2 players anyway on the left, especially given Fale is injured anyway... which way around they go im not sure.. it just depends if Val is just in a bit of a funk he can pull out of, or if this is the guy we have for the next 1.5yrs.
