I think nowadays Dave there is too much at risk to have your high profile players get injured in the CS. We were in a different situation having to sort a few things out before Vegas, alas in a previous post I did mention what do we do all pre-season in training. All that we witnessed via video etc did not eventuate into that game. So I hope I'm wrong but presently I cant see them winning any game in the first 6 rounds, as I said I hope I'm wrong.
Yes, particularly for this year because of Vegas. Looking at some of the pre-season training stuff on the Dragons website, the players looked very fit and their drills looked good so I don't know what happened to them on Saturday night. Maybe tried too hard to impress??

I think the other way Dave, I think the majority tried to avoid injury, Sele just went in with the wrong technique.

I think we can beat the storm
I hope we can blacksafake. While our guys didn't win the Charity Shield, the competition points are the ones we want. If the Storm don't win their first game of the comp against the Eels (a tradition that they do - have not lost the first game of the comp since Bellamy became the coach) then they face us in round 2 and no doubt play it tougher against us. You never know, we could win at WIN and the Storm could be 0-2.

Just want to add that the Storm this year to me don't appear to have firepower in the forwards nor strength in the backs. The halves of Hughes and Munster and Grant at hooker are great but somehow not looking as strong overall. Could be a leaner year than others for the Storm.

If we had won the Charity Shield then I would be more confident of us winning our first two games.

I agree cautiously. I'm sure Bellamy has a realistic plan.
