Yes they did Joe -

"Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the Australian Government was proud to support a project that would provide immediate and long-term benefits for the Illawarra.

“This is what rugby league is all about – community, a sense of identity and belonging, learning on and off the field and always looking to improve yourself right beside your teammates,” Albanese said.

“Our investment of $13.6 million to the St George Illawarra Dragons’ Community and High-Performance Centre will provide a world-class facility for the Dragons to deliver the next chapter for the Illawarra.

“Fifteen months ago, we backed this vision for the boys and girls of the Illawarra to be the next NRL and NRLW Dragons, and today we’re proud to help make it a reality.”"
Cheers, I didn't know they did. I was initially bemused why you have a no.1 ticket holder for Souths cutting the ribbon. I understand now. Thanks for that

SGI NSW Cup
Watching the Dragons losing the past 15 games (the last 4 of 2025 and 11 in 2026 to date), has certainly been depressing and it has got to the stage where losing is now the norm and is undeniably exhausting as the competition continues in the year of 2026.

Seeing the Dragons lose week in and week out takes a real mental toll. Luckily with this Forum, we can easily vent our frustrations amongst ourselves and get some relief by writing down our concerns like I am doing now.

Rugby league is a brutal sport, but hopefully the pain that we have endured over the past decade and a half will disappear in 2027. Rebuilding rosters and shaking up tactics by the Club will be very high on their agenda. Once the fulltime Head Coach has been appointed, I am sure that the Dragons will do everything in their power to make sure that these bad seasons are put to bed.

Remember, the sweetest victories often come after the toughest seasons.
