Imagine this ... Tina Turner's "simply the best playing"
then we see the Savage Try and commentary about it being not a try, then the Cook kicking the ball out of To'o hands and scoring to be taken off us ... then the roosters knock on in the tackle before Robson scores from Dummy Half ...

Then we cut from Simply the best to Groundhog day and Phil smashing the alarm clock playing "ive got you babe" at 6am

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the incredible support you have continued to show our Club.
We are determined not to find ourselves in the position we are in again. A major part of that is finding our next NRL Head Coach.
As we’ve shared previously, the process is well underway, and we’re taking our time to make sure we get it right. This isn’t about making the quickest decision; it’s about pressure-testing strategies and having the resolve to move forward.
We’re looking at the football program in its entirety, not just a resume. We want a coach who can develop an exciting young forward pack and, equally, lead people, set standards and create an environment where players want to improve every day.
With new recruits joining the Club, it’s also critical that we build a structure to bring the entire playing group together, help those players settle quickly, and foster a team that genuinely enjoys working hard for one another.
No one person is bigger than the Club. Our approach must be bigger than a single appointment, a single department, or a few seasons. It must be about building the standards, systems and culture required to become the Dragons our members deserve.

This is very well said but

A complete process that will result in the least qualified Young getting the job.

Not one person is bigger than the club, well is appears that the Youngs are .

One step forward four steps back.
If they appoint Deano after this, after how he hasn't improved the team at all but might have taken them backwars still further..... well what can anyone say? Can say "That's it! I'm done with this club!" but everyone knows one will still support them.

Holy shit what a lot of drivel this was. I had high hopes for this CEO but gone now.

I honestly thought they were talking the talk pretty well. Though I'm pretty far from a literary giant so maybe I'm just not reading between the lines very well.

Walking the walk is a worry.

This all sounds like a CEO who is being controlled by the owners, where the decision about the next Head Coach is not being made by him, and therefore his job is to send stupid messages to the fans to pretend there’s a real recruitment process going on.

I see. To be perfectly honest, I can't see that having just reread it. Not saying it isn't true. Just that I can't see it. I have no doubt at all they wanted to appoint Deano but the way the team hasn't improved, if not gone backwards, has forced them to revise their plans. Also, the possibility Deano might spit the dummy and walk away immediately bringing on more unwanted headlines. That's what I think is going on and the above message could confirm that.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have an announcement from the CEO that provides some details about the progress of the recruitment process. You know, details like who is on the selection panel, how many applicants there were, how many were on the shortlist to be interviewed and the anticipated date for completion of the process and announcement of the successful candidate.

Instead we get some aspirational waffle that refers to “pressure testing strategies.” What strategies? Why are they not documented in a strategic plan and made public? It’s all a bit underwhelming really.
