Carayannis: 4-6 years
They’ve got a really good young forward pack coming through and there is belief in the club that they can turn the squad into an elite side. However their current roster isn’t playing finals next season and will struggle to do it the following year so they are four to six years away.
Riccio: 4-6 years
I love what they’ve done with blooding so much young talent. They’ve got some guns in Hamish Stewart, Dylan Egan, Jacob Halangahu and Nick Tsourgranis. When you get that mixed blend of raw exciting talent, with some experience that’s the recipe for a Shane Flanagan premiership.
Read: 7-9 years
Their spine needs a complete overhaul. Stack it against Penrith, Melbourne, Brisbane - I could name 15 teams and it doesn’t compete. They need to find an elite half. They’ve said it themselves.
4~6 years is very harsh which seems to be the case they themselves are making. A good. young forward pack is literally half the battle.
As for Read, not sure what he's talking about. Gutho had a good year though it's true the teams needs more speed across the backline. Liddle has been consistently good since he came. LKT just turned 20. Need a halfback but not sure the spine needs a complete overhaul at all.
I'll keep an eye out. My hometown club Bradford Bulls just got promoted to SL for 2026. We need some good hard Yorkshire bookends.Try to find us some outside backs & halves please![]()
Crowd numbers are down already so will those numbers decrease further for the next 3-4 years and then only a handful of loyal fans there at that time?We will have no supporters left if its going to take that long for anything.
A bit of speed and panache, something we've been short on for a long time, and crowd numbers will bounce back.Crowd numbers are down already so will those numbers decrease further for the next 3-4 years and then only a handful of loyal fans there at that time?
I am hoping that next year we will show a big improvement and by that I mean not to die in the backside in the last 5-6 games like we have in the past few years. That could mean being in the top 8. Please let it happen.
Yes, the excitement of scoring length of the field tries through a break by a speedy half to set up a fast centre or winger to score without a hand placed on him or through an intercept near our line and racing the length of the field to score under the posts. Then our speedy defence to bring down a player who has broken through and the chase is on to run the man down with only metres to spare to the goal line by that opposing winger.A bit of speed and panache, something we've been short on for a long time, and crowd numbers will bounce back.
We have just been a poor act for quite a number of years. When you have poor performances chances are that no one wants to see you. Yes there will always be loyal fans who will travel all over the place to watch the Dragons play but they will dwindle if we continue to perform badly. The crowd numbers are down for a reason, yes you can blame the game timeslots etc BUT fans and supporters used to travel anywhere anytime to watch the beloved Dragons. We have been poorly managed and coached for the last 15 years with success a pipe dream. Make no mistake we are a bottom 4 club and the crowds reflect that. We have done nothing so far to suggest things will be different in the years to come. If we can prove something to ourselves that the club is going places and we are winning games, then yes the crowds will be back, next year will be pivotal in getting the club back on track. If we start throwing out inconsistent shitty performances again, both WIN and Kogarah will be like the Sahara desert, the fans have had a gutful and rightly so, we have been shithouse. Maybe Mr COE Gordon can take note of that in the Bahamas !!!

100%, Anasta is more honest about it, but Reed sugar coats it better... but never has anything good to say.. always has us for the spoon..FWIW, Brent Read is up there with Braith Anasta as the biggest dragons hater, you won’t hear a positive word come out of their mouths
I’m glad you said that, I’ve been saying it for years. Especially when podcasts like Bloke in a bar which players listen to say and I’ll give an example specific to us, about 2021-2022 when Mat Feagai had a breakout season and did well they were saying he would be a gun if he went to a ‘top club’ and were BAYING for him to move to melbourne100%, Anasta is more honest about it, but Reed sugar coats it better... but never has anything good to say.. always has us for the spoon..
TBF we deserve a lot of criticism.. and our roster needs some huge inclusions, but one thing I hate from all the media personalities.. is how they want all the good players to go the best clubs.. like how does the comp ever improve if the good teams always get the pick of the litter..
There is only one answer to that Rev, a draft .100%, Anasta is more honest about it, but Reed sugar coats it better... but never has anything good to say.. always has us for the spoon..
