Dragons v Dogs Round 1

Dragons Chris

SGI NSW Cup
If you want an edge you pick Jake
If you want a middle you pick Cake ..

That simple
Lawrie should only play if there are multiple HIAs etc .. the 4 that should be in the rotation are Sele/Kerr/Ryan/LKT
Flano needs to hold that 4th sub back until late and see where Cook is at.

With Ryan/Hamish you can cover an injury to the edge. Jake is a little surplus there.
If you lose a middle out of the rotation (or two as in the warriors game) then Cake.

Hate him or not he did make more metres/tackles in our trials than any other forward. He was given objectives, met them and is in the 19 for now.
Disagree. He could do a bit of a reshuffle.

If he is struggling can bring on LKT and one of the bench forwards misses out, the 4th interchange player will be left late, to see how the game is panning out...
Can someone please explain to an old fart how this 6 man bench actually works?

So we still have 14 - 17 and now 18/19. So as pointed out if we lose a back can 18/19 jump above 14- 17? And if so would 1 of the original 14 - 17 automatically miss out?

I assumed that you have basically 6 reserves, you can choose 4 of them to replace/interchange others

Just beat these scummy bastards please.
My mate whose Dad actually played for Canterbury Bankstown back in the day, Mal Clift, reckons the Dogs boys have been living it up in Vegas with social media posts galore. No expense has been spared by the club and their sponsors.

Still I believe that they will be running on with a couple of players not 100% and that is in my opinion fraught with danger and good for us, especially in round 1.

Time will tell

And although surprised that is all you can ask any player to do. You set achievable goals and targets per player then the team as a whole.

Now if some fail to meet those then you get jumped. Perhaps this is what has happened to LPT. ?

No surprise really. Sloan and Feagai have fallen well down the order. Halangagu offers much more than Blake but it is Flanno after all. No surprise he went with Blake.
Barring injuries, I can’t see Blake Lawrie or David Fale getting any minutes off the bench. Kyle will slot in at dummy half when Cook comes off, and LKT will cover at 5/8.

As long as we go in with the right attitude, the rest will look after itself. As I said before we are not there for a holiday. There is already enough shit going around without us putting in an embarrassing display.
Yes agreed Justa. The players need to put in 100% and not "business as usual". They need to focus and get the job done effectively and with conviction. Whomever is in charge of making sure that they do not muck up has to be on his toes and keep them under control.

Remembering in 2004 when the Bulldogs were involved in a major off-field scandal when several players were accused of sexual assault during a night out in Coffs Harbour. I'm sure that that won't happen again, but you never know.

I hope we have come a long way from that Dave, the penalties that the NRL would impose for sexual misconduct from any team waving the NRL banner in Vegas would be horrendous. I'm sure it has been reiterated to the players in a big way.

i reckon blocka will be held back, maybe until the 60th min to see how cookie is travelling then decide whether lkt or blocka gets onto the field. we might also be chasing points so could roll with lkt.

I'd love to know the thinking behind switching Holmes and Suli. It just seems like pointless tinkering to me and - based on Suli's defensive decisions in the CS - harmful tinkering. Is it about protecting Val's shoulder? In that case: yikes.
