It's not working at the moment , this is what I'd be doing with the players we have to try and turn the tide ......... Holmes to Fullback , Gutho to 5/8 or 7 , Allan to centre , Lawson to wing ........ Just maybe it might spark something because it ain't happening the way it is ........

I'm hearing you mate, but guess what, nothing has changed except for Lawrie in for TC, go figure.

Any idea on the severity of Cyrus’ injury that’s ruled him out this week?
ah bugger, he played on but whatever he did to that ankle.. assume/hope he didnt make it worse.

nsw cup is basically the same time in a different state, so nobody can drop back a grade, assume an 18th and 19th man will go to qld... means they can hide RFM and 1 other probably in those slots.. but eventually you might think they need to be moved on.. we could really do with some slots, Lawson must be promised more than the development salary, and Nick/Jett could be bought on earlier, though I suppose they will be happy as 2026 signings.

The Dragons can provide the following injury update on Dylan Egan, who was taken from the field early with a knee injury.

Scans have unfortunately confirmed a ruptured ACL with associated cartilage damage.

Egan will now require an ACL reconstruction, meaning he will be unavailable for the remainder of the 2025 season.

Another tuff break for one of our juniors.

It looked bad at the ground. Luckily he's only young and will be back for 2026

If we were smart we’d extend Ryan and Dylan for another year or 2 as a ‘show of good faith’

Players and managers take note of that

Toby would obviously get an extension as well

Its hard to get the numbers right though, I think the talk about Toby as being in Origin within 12mths is a bit crazy.. I mean I love the kid but there are a lot of good props out there..but if he does kick on.. his value goes right up.

Conversely his brother could easily been on a similar trajectory.. maybe 6mths behind.. but an ACL man.. atleast 12mths of a setback.. possibly a loss of speed/agility also? Its a game changing injury... and now Egan has it too.. which really sets his value back another 12mths.. all that lost fitness too that was the hallmark of both Ryan and Egan.

Kirks ACL also.. what does that do to his future.. we dunno.. changes everything though.. 3 in a season is crazy..

So I again ask the question. Are we initiating our young forward stars too early to the rigours of 1sts? Young bodies, still developing, high impact hits, pace of the game

I mean Kirks was foul play in SG Ball so ignore that one... Ryan was Round 1 was it? Egan Round 10.. I would have thought the injuries would be more back end of the season, and if not injuries.. just mental/physical exhaustion and form slumps... I completely agree though and I think its the changing face of the game now.. the more talent is spread... the more we need to dip into the younger age groups.. as long as every club has to do it, atleast its fair.

I think this is not the way Flanno wanted to do things, he probably wants to give them rests also.... and he probably will... but I dont think we have a choice.. these damn forward injuries, 2 of them ACL's.. probably didnt want Toby to be doing the long minutes either.. but Tonga so far has been probably as good as Lawrie, maybe even Guler though Guler I think can handle far longer minutes.. I rly hope he comes good tbh.. we kind of need him.. him or Klemmer perhaps.

I’m not worried about ACL injuries, the data shows that it’s not really a concern post injury having a massive drop off, especially with forwards. Outside backs and halves it’s a little different as they are constantly changing directions at high speed

Ruptured Achilles is a different story

btw, Roosters are a good example of ACL injuries not being as impactful as they once were

Radley/Toia/Watson/Steep have all done their ACL within the last 2-3 years and they look pretty damn good

I’m no head of recruitment and retention but to me it seems like a no brainer, their value at this point is the lowest it’ll be in their careers

Just my point of view but I think they should tack a year or 2 extra onto their contract, even if it’s a little more money than what their currently on

We also have Sele now Rev, we need to get more out of him than what we have.

if CT isnt back thats Finau/Lawson last men standing.. if Val doesnt back up thats Lawson @ctr probably, unless we want to get dispensation for a rookie... or take a gamble on Nick, but thats crazy talk you would think..
