that must be a record for Souths.. we've had an insane year but they have over 100 more..

Also hadnt realised the cows had injuries at all.. but clearly have.
Cowboys lost that very good backrower very early in the season. The one who ripped the Dragons apart in one of Hooks last games in charge. JT for a large part of the season also. Apart from that, I also have idea who they are missing.

The impact of injuries of course amplified depending on the quality of your roster.. despite our cup team having a good year (we have a lot of reserve grade quality as backup), our reserves are nothing like the bigger clubs.. Roosters in particular are full to the gills of first graders in waiting.

Credit where its due though the way Souths managed to play Ward, Sullivan, Humphries etc and they have all been good.. hard to believe Dodd basically didnt play, coach must be really really off him.

Dodd played 1 game off the bench and one game running on. That was enough for Wayne.

What a time to have your appendix blow up, still rather this than what Ramsay has. Boys will have to dig deep now.
What a shame. Missing a grand final that we still have a good chance of winning. Jacob will certainly be missed and all I can say is I hope that you are in good care and if you have had your operation, that it was done successfully and you are recovering well. If not and you will be operated on later, all the best.

few of our best young forwards missing.. def loses our edge.. but yeah hopefully CST in, leave Nick at ctr cause Im not sure we have another option.. often ends up being CST anyway.
Is Lawson out? He seems to go ok in reserve grade. It might be Lawson centre and Nick second row.

DRAGONS STAR RACING THE CLOCK FOR VEGAS

The Dragons have suffered a cruel injury blow ahead of the 2026 season with gun hooker Jacob Liddle suffering a serious hamstring injury. The crafty No.9 is racing the clock to be fit for the Dragons huge Las Vegas showdown in round one with the Bulldogs on February 28.

Liddle has suffered a grade three hamstring tear while chasing a kick during the Dragons training session on Thursday. Liddle had a standout 2025 season, appearing in all 24 games, scoring nine tries, and tallying over 662 tackles.

The 29-year-old was certain to feature in round one as a one-two dummy-half punch with Damien Cook. Liddle’s injury leaves the Dragons relying on Cook, alongside back-up dummy-halves Haele Finau and Connor Muhleisen – who is on his own path to recovery from a torn ACL. The other option is to shift half Kyle Flanagan into a dummy-half role with Cook and Lykhan King-Togia into the halves.

“Jacob is a fast-healer, so we’re not planning to be without him long-term and we’re hoping he will still be okay for round one,’’ Dragons coach Shane Flanagan said. “In the meantime, we’ve got our upcoming trial matches to look at all our options.’’

Sounds like Flanno is optimistic about him being fit for round 1.

If Liddle isn't 100% fit, don't play him. I've had many hamstring injuries and I've come back too early thinking I was ok but bang, the same hamstring goes again and again.

Not a chance imagine for 1 moment this bloke off the bench has the ability to change the flow of a game in your favour. He was last season in my humble opinion in the top 3 bench players in the competition. No way should he be placed into a position in coming back too early. Its a very long season
