But he would want a long-term deal, not just a caretaker. Though I would agree with him taking over immediately and for 2 more years.
He’s coaching over in the UK with the London Broncos. If we can’t get him straight away then WT takes over for the rest of the season if possible. Find another person for the cup gig. It’s an absolute shambles but we cannot keep going like this. Anzac Day could be 80-0 this year

That's a good idea. Though if we can't get Demetriou immediately, I'd prefer Brad Arthur.
This will probably seem very dumb but how about Des Hasler as a caretaker?
Des was the blue print for the old dinosaur who refused to change and he copped a bullet, career in the nrl over. Flanno is doing the exact same thing and will be next to go from the nrl coaching train and his career will be done

If we were ruthless as a club, i would attempt to poach AWebster he seems to be a good communicator, gives youngsters an opportunity and seems to be up to date with the latest trends..
I could live with Talau getting the job, he has done a wonderful job from the juniors to the current KOE cup, all the teams he has coached, play an attractive football, see to be well structured and there is a plan.
Others that may be worth a shot who are young and up and coming in the coaching world like Matt King, Wallace, Marc Brentall, im sure there is more, but those type of coaches..

Well lads here's the back to earth news which are just my views. Coaches salaries are a well kept secret but Flanagan signed a 2 yr extension last year keeps him head coach until 2028.
So what is a premiership winning coach worth. In my work life I worked with Wayne Bennett brother Bob and he let slip what his brother was getting pre 2010 and post 2010 whilst having a few cold ones.
So bearing in mind what he was earning 15 years ago after winning the premiership for us, I would suggest that sacking Flanagan and paying him out for the rest of his new contract would cost the club between $1.25 - $1.5 million.
Does anyone really believe that the club is in a financial position to show Flanagan the door ?

I don't think that they will sack him this year. But they should. The longer he stays, the deeper the hole he'll dig. The club has a choice: spend a lot of money on coaches or keep poisoning the future.

Negotiate a settlement and close his contract. He has lost the room.
As a unit they are not working, it's so far off it's ridiculous.

He's probably on the low end of contract and it depends if we have a termination clause, Manly’s payout to Seibold is 300k.
Are we in a financial position to pay him out no matter the price, Yes.
One thing Webb did well was finance, the club has been millions in profits each year for a while now.

It's a shame. I continue to believe Flanno could have been good. He's put together a very good pack. A pack which has arguably taken it to the 4 teams so far this year. Then with KK next year, it'll be very formidable.
Just this thing with Kyle and recruitment of backs! Already had a big, slow backline so he goes ahead and recruits CT and Gutho. I rate them both but they are clearly not what this team needs for a fullback and winger.

Morgan we have just been blessed with very good young forwards and getting KK not sure who did that, but his best mate is Sua.
