I really cant see what you can do in a year, and if he does go a new coach will have to familiarize with the players and styles all over again.

It clearly states on the Dragons website that -
"The Dragons are pleased to announce that Michael Ennis will join the club as an Assistant Coach for 2026.".
One year seems a tad small period as an assistant coach. He would need to fast track a lot to get what he knows set into place for 2026 with the players and will be helping with the Dragons attack in 2026 and from a positions point of view, he will be working with the halves and hookers similar to what he had been doing at Manly.
I have a feeling that when Ennis leaves his mark, which I hope will be a very successful one, that possibly Willie Talua could be promoted to be the full time assistant coach in 2027. Talau will also learn stuff from Ennis, even though Talua has his own ways which shows with his good KOE Cup record to date. I have even suggested that we try and get Steve Price back and I will say it again - the Dragons need to get rid of Dean, no defence, Young.

Ennis was on SEN, did say he will still be working at fox, but on days hes not needed for gameday etc.. um and did mention aspirations of head coaching at some stage.
So Dean Young will be defensive coach again next year ?
Why wasn’t he appointed assistant coach ?
Ennis is teetotle (unlike Flanno judging by his beer gut !) and wants to keep his media job as well !

I mean I think he kinda is, whatever 'full time' means, but I guess he will still do atleast 1 night a week on fox.

Can't remember which game it was but one we lost comfortably. He seemed to be taking the piss out of Blake Lawrie.
I guess if Blocka is pissed off about it and quits, that will be a good result. Unfortunately the 6-again rule made the game unsuitable for Blocka. At least at NRL level.

There was about half a dozen games this year where his first run of the game he got levelled by the opposition, just a below average NRL player who was given more grace than he deserved because he’s a local junior

Each club has 2 assistant coaches. Deano is one and Ennis the other. The defence wasn't that bad compared to other clubs. Especially if the last few lackluster games were taken out of the equation.

It was very weird hearing Ennis essentially going through the 17 man squad and praising everyone lol.. not used to hearing a media commentator do that..
But its all pi$$ing in the wind at this stage, hasnt even started the gig yet.. also he wont know who the 4or5 recruits will be.. and he didnt talk about Atkinson.
