Hopefully Blocka drops back to give them some expirence.

Flegg a lot of changes but all of them have played before.

Big two games against strong Penrith teams.
Both Jersey Flegg centres promoted and another Jersey Flegg eligible centre unavailable due to being selected for U19s? Along with Williams already pencilled in for a train and trial deal next year! Do you think it's more a lack of options or they are really good?

On the subject of Williams, is he injured again? Was a really bad car crash?

lot of changes to every squad.. be nice if Rubie didnt have to step up this early.. Hutchinson maybe.. but could be tough during the rep period...
I always thought Hutchinson was flying under the radar but is very good his own right. Everyone's attention on Latu, LPT, Halangahu, Nick T to a lesser extent.

Not being biased here but the measure of a good coach is being able to quickly adapt those players either being promoted or demoted into your own teams structures. Our reserves coach Talau deserves a lot of credit especially having this team looking like they will be playing semi finals football this season.

Always said coaching ressies was just as hard as coaching 1sts.

Halangahu on sen. Very family oriented. Sounds like a very level headed young man. Good to hear his partner is from the gong. Helps with future re-signing.

Some interesting bits I've heard across the nrl media

- Jacob said that the first training session with u19 this year under Josh Jackson (bulldogs u19 coach?) was intense compared to the walk through last year.
- He looks up to RFM for professionalism in the squad, imo unsure if that's a good or bad thing.
- Stephen Crichton said he rips into every training session with intensity because one time he got fended off by waqa blake & realised his talent alone wasn't good enough to make it in NRL.

The comments about intensity are interesting because it shows the standard the top teams (Bulldogs) take in their approach to training. I've heard Panthers are similar with their training, Melbourne are well known for having intense training sessions too. This is what we're competing against to get into the top 4, tbh our players don't look like the high intensity training types apart from the youngsters. I could be totally wrong about us but just an observation.

I think you need to have the right type of individuals who respond positively to that type of training too. The competitiveness from players in those teams is also impressive, they compete for every inch. I'm not going to lie, I'm jealous because I would love to see it in our team.

A thriller by our Flegg boys. Back from the dead to be within a sniff of a massive comeback win.
Not be be as we let them score the last one. So near yet so far. But certainly some promising signs over the past month or so.

First half best:
  • Ilias
  • Lawrie
  • Ramsey
  • Both centres have looked dangerous in attack and going in looking for work.
  • Finau
Blocka is done in NRL but still goes well t this level.
Ilias should be recalled for the next game.
Ramsey seems to be putting on weight. Not getting rag-dolled even when they catch him.
Finau has had a number of strong carries but late in the first half, rushed in to make a tackle, absolutely needlessly and ended up only tacking thin air.
