The same was said about Stewart, I remember many saying it was a nepotism signing.
Where is he today...
I was just thinking about Stewart today actually.. all those pages of nepo chat that have now stopped.. and here he is sitting in blues camp... I was toying with bringing it up in the other forum.. but another day lol..

Stewart hit Top 30 @ 20.5yrs of age I think, and that was early... Weatherall will be right on 19yrs of age I think? Like its something that have to call a very very long way out, they must have been very sure.. I guess you could compare it to say an Ollie or Ah Kee or maybe a CMeafou.. like ur pretty confident they will get there.. even if you get it wrong by 12mths.. you dont mind them being locked up so you dont have to face raid after raid.
Mace is very lazy and slow in D he needs to work on it.
Mason Andrews was the standout forward for me.
Ok good to know.. hope he does cause I love his running game.... Andrews has been solid also, again too early to know if it will continue, kept finding himself in a stink this year, him and his blue shoes.

nothing wrong with going early on a top 30 contract if the guy getting it is an incredible talent

Woods at Canterbury is top 30 which was a year early but nobody blames Canterbury for thst

The Seve Bros both got top 30 deals from the chooks, Itula only recently turned 18 and got a deal, I don’t blame the chooks for that one

On the other hand you looks at the tigers who were so desperate to keep these talented young guys they had but they butchered how they handed them out, like Heath Mason and the Lauli’i bro’s are nowhere near ready for a top 30 deal but just out of pure desperation from the tigs they got it

Where they have got it right is Makasini, he’s top 30 next year turning 19YO but that’s fair enough because he had 100 clubs chasing him including Rugby Union

It’s about timing in most cases unless it’s a special player you can’t afford to lose

Latu played prop on Sun and looked ineffective and disinterested for the most part. Grubs may have misjudged this dude. Hope so. With much of the play going down the other edge Sione Finau is being starved of the ball, so is lacking chances to impress for a top grade return. The few times it went his way Buchanan hogged the pill. Talau needs to look at this as Finau is a major strike weapon. I dont see a strong halves combo with Ilias and Glover so the structure can look wonky at times. I think it is time Jett Liu also had a debut.

Slow week. Looking forward to these games on Sunday. With only one Dragons player involved and him playing for QLD, I just don't care very much about Origin. These lower grade games are more important.
Still wouldn't mind spanking the Morons at their home ground

We were almost in again but Te Moananui stopped so close to the white wash.
That first try has sparked us and we are over again, but bummer I missed the lead up play.

Fagalilo dives over on stroke of oranges. I rate this guy. After Cook we need not look any further than him as Lidds partner.

Reed is having a good one. This kid thinks on his feet. Impressive. I see him in our halves in 2 yrs, tho his defense needs work.

We keep letting them back in it which wont be pleasing the coach. Just cant ice it.

Our middle defense aint up to it as we have given them another and they are back in the lead. They have scored the last three tries and will now take home the bacon. Poor finish by us after looking the best side for much of the game.

Saifiti mistakes led to three tries I think. Pretty poor game from him.

At the other end of the scale Reed was excellent.
