Dis you manage to get any roles in acting on stage, TV at all?
David I seem to recall I also did extra work on Spyforce. Was filmed at Nth Sydney if not mistaken. Yeh I started with extra work, then several speaking roles in a couple of soaps, Young Doctors was one, a movie with Judie Davis and the Bellamy crime series. I worked in semi pro reperatory theatre too and even ran my own theatre company for a while. Then I married and had to get real, so I took a voice course and tried my luck by starting my own voice over company then worked mostly in department stores in their promotion depts. This was more steady work than the other and I made a good living out of it until a downturn in the economy in the 90s. Keatings ''the recession we had to have''. He destroyed my business.

I only had the one yr at Engadine Primary then the B junior school, both served warm milk at recess. How difficult would it have been to put the milk crates in a cool place rather than leave them near or even in the sun.

To be honest the education side of that boarding school was not that bad, firstly the Cropley primary level school and later Westmead High where I actually felt like a normal boy and could play normal sports and buy normal food at the tuck shop. What were your favorite tuck shop eats?
Yes, exactly Ritchie. A shady spot - most probably they did until the sun moved and sent the warm/hot rays onto the milk before recess. Good that you got to get some enjoyment of school life which made life growing up better and you felt normal.

Ultimo Primary didn't have a tuck shop but Camperdown PS did. What I can remember was having baked bean rolls which were my favourite. After school and walking home I can remember popping into the fish and chip shop and getting a great tasting wrap of hot chips for about 5 pence. Loved them to bits and then they used to fill me up too much and I couldn't finish my dinners.

I also had the shop to get all of the rubbish to eat before dinner - ate all of the profits me and my brothers.
Hahaha!

Were you also a member and went to the Taj Mahal after the game David, like Jo and I did. If you did we may have met and shared a cold one or two. That would be cool to know. Wonder how many of us on this forum did that or still do.
Yes I was a member and after the games across the road on Kogarah Oval, I used to go over to the Taj with a mate who knew a few of the players and also Peter Wynn - Graeme's brother who as you know was a great player for us while Peter was at the Eels. Good times. Most of that time the coach was Harry Bath who as you know coached the Bath's Babes to grand final wins in 1977 and 1979. Fantastic times then.

That's great Ritchie you doing several extra work and speaking roles. The recession was a killer for many small business owners - sorry it happened to you.

My filming of Spyforce was all done around the Narrabeen Lakes area.

After my voice over business went bust I did a journalism course and found work in local St George news papers. Kinda ironic that I returned to journalism as I had started there. After about five years I was finding this caper was very dog eat dog with so much pressure to bring in printable copy. So I gave sales another crack. This time in both white goods and furniture where I remained till I took early retirement after my age seemed to preclude me from finding more ongoing sales work. I even tried to get back into promotions but was told over and over I was now too old. What a load of crap.

Journalism was something that I would have loved doing - mainly with golf tournaments at the time I was interested in that career, but I was in a full-time permanent job and the money was good and life in general good, so there was no need to go into anything that might result in me regretting that change in career. I reckon you would have been good at sales Ritchie - early retirement gave you plenty of time up your sleeve to do other things. I am glad I worked to a good age of 70 before retiring. I knew it was time to get out when I did as Property Management problems were problems I could do without.

I am accepting my position in life now and I think that you have been in retirement long enough to accept your past employment issues.

Covering sport was the most enjoyable part of journalism for me, being a sports nut. Best part was sitting down face to face with various sportsmen/women and interviewing them. I derived a great deal of satisfaction doing this and even more when they'd ring me and thank me once they read my printed words. There was the occasion where someone was not all that happy, but thankfully this was rare.

My big regret was my voice business going belly up. This was my most enjoyable ever work, it had everything, excitement, stimulation, satisfaction, was confidence building and great fun. Above all it gave me a decent living.

Is that like Strata management David as my brother did that for a long time too. He often complained about various tenant problems that always seemed ongoing.
My line of work in real estate was managing many residential and commercial properties on behalf of owners and landlords. Tenancies can be a big problem and landlords also so need to have good communication skills. Attended the Consumer and Tenancy Tribunal on many occasions to sort out disputes. Plenty of stress at times.

Strata management is looking after strata units like apartments and common areas that are associated with separate strata titled units. Strata managers handle a host of things on behalf of what was the Body Corporate.

Looks good only problem is when the Scottish and Welsh? flags are added to it and it becomes the Union Jack and forms part of our national emblem, is then that I object vehemently.
No one agrees with me that having a alien flag on our independent emblem sucks. In colonial times yes, but not after Federation.
