Other Clubs in 2026

Broncos should have beat them by 30 tonight but they take the piss and have games off where they can’t be arsed with the grind

Although like I said last week parra aren’t as bad as the scoreline suggested v Melbourne

any struggling clubs are lucky as the broncos could be 0-3 as they play Storm in Melbourne so any heat will mostly be on them

Todd Payten/Seibold/Flanno all have important games for their PR this week

I think if the cows lose to the tigers this week and titans next week there’s a very good chance after playing Storm R4 they are 0-4 heading into Round 5 against us at kogarah

Might be Paytens final nail in the coffin

Yep 100%, there are a few coaches that will be looking over their shoulder in the next few weeks

I know this isn't a big deal, but games are getting refed differently every week, last week, can't remember which game a team scored with approx 5.49seconds to go, the ref blew time off literally when the kicker got the ball in his hand to kick for goal, he didn't signal time back on until the opposition kicked off, i was under the impression time off is called in the last 5 minutes and now watching Moses take the piss out of the last goal kick taking forever to kick it while time was running down, what happened to stopping the clock..
Mate it’s a piss take. I don’t understand why the clock isn’t stopped as soon as the referee awards the try and the clock re starts when the referee blows his whistle for the kickoff after the goal kick has been taken. Very simple and stops all this rubbish time wasting late in the game.

Theoretically, your saving 1.5 to 2 mins after each try, that’s a lot of time lost each game by letting the clock run

This has pi$$ed me off for years, its an absolute mystery to me when time is or isnt coming off.. I figured they must know what they're doing but seems like its not the case.. I wish they would just simplify it, I mean stopping the clock for every kick is probably the cleanest.. then they can take as long as they want..

For those of you who think we will have a win against Para, think again. After tonights game an 0-3 start just got real.
Literally none of the opposition teams are games you can put in the bank.... I have Knights as the only team I would be shattered to lose against... but they have some gun attacking weapons too.

Thats why im not trying to predict our season until I see our first win.. I need to see if we have a style that can work.. probably a defensive grit and long kicking game that can win us games against a faster teams (which is all of them). I mean the Eels and Broncos let in so many points tonight and we didnt in vegas.... but we also havent faced a side that has their sh*t together yet... and it was a thinner field too.

We might win on saturday tbf.. but for me the season starts in Rd3 and Rd4, those are the sides we need to put away.. at least 1 of em.. its why I think Flanno was so cranky in vegas (I mean we all were) but he know how different his year could be if we had won that game as should have with all our possession and control... would have been such a different vibe... that first win is so critical to team confidence too.. sing the song with all the new guys.. rly hope we can pull a win out of the fire on saturday.. if not them then smash parra plzzzz.

Bigger guys in the middle and faster guys in the backs plus better half and 5/8th. Parra won't be an easy team to beat going from their game against the Broncos last night. They did not give up and made fewer errors - 5 as compared to the Broncos' 12. That game has given them a ton of confidence for 2026.

Their loss against the Storm was a certainty before the ball was kicked due to the Storm's winning record in the first round of each year since Bellamy became their coach - whichever team the Storm played, they would have won, it was a convincing win by them over the Eels. The final score line showed how good the Storm will continue to be in 2026.

I still think that Parra will have a good year overall.

So after Round 1 young Pezet was being downgraded in his ability to assist Moses this season.

After Round 2 what a signing for the Eels with Pezet on one side of the ruck Moses on the other the Eels are a shoe in to play semi finals football this season.

Amazing what a week in football can be like.

Pezet is going to be a really good NRL half. Moses is a great half. Parra will not make the semis! The middle defence is not good enough.

Bellamy before the game, was asked about how he would work on Pezet's deficiencies and his answer was to work on reducing his good points, which when you watched that round 1 game Pezet looked reserve grade material because of how Bellamy got his guys to reduce his impact. Maguire did not work on Pezet's good points in round 2 so he produced the goods.

We play them after the Storm game as you would be aware, so we need to work out how we can reduce the good points of several Storm players and then the Eels players etc. Do you think that our coaching staff have that ability?

The premiers, the Ponies what a start to 2026. Now obviously its too early to write them off, and you can't.

But just let me highlight this. In their first 3 games this season they have leaked 96 points. An avg of 32 points per game. Avg 30 missed tackles per game.

The team that beat them in the WCC, Hull were touched up by Leeds in Vegas and after 4 rounds in SL sit 11th of 14.

Next week v Storm in Melbourne, without their 7, there is every chance for a 0 - 3 start to defending their title.

To my old eyes they have definitely have a issue with their defensive structures.

I'm not particularily saddened by this

I'm hoping so because apart from coaches being measured by the normal win/loss ratio its the other little things such as individual game plans that add to their reputation

They had some bad periods last year as well. I do not think they can win this year.

Melbourne losing that centre was a huge blow.
Yes. Absolutely. Many other things went their way. They were lucky against both Raiders and Panthers. Reynolds was unreasonably healthy all year. I didn't think he'd play that many games. Haas and Walsh were awesome in the last 6 weeks, but overall Broncos were the most flawed premiers in recent years.
