Melb: 73% completion rate, 11 errors, 61 missed tackles!! Wowsers, very un Melbourne like and the 1st half they looked good and in control. Meaney defensively had a shocker, 18 tackles, 7 missed. Owned by Xerri all night

You could see Melbourne getting tired during the end part of the 1st half, 2nd half after 10-15 minutes they looked gassed, could tell the bullgrubs would get them, they made so many inroads into Melbourne's defence it was just a matter of time

Spilling the ball on tackle 1 numerous times didn't help and the one where the winger spilled it with his line wide open was the final nail in the coffin.

100%, big lumbering boofheads are no longer the go. Even in the forwards you need speed and endurance, and we have that by a long way. Cant wait until next year with a reasonable set of backs. I did notice that during every Melbourne set Faalogo would take the 5th hitup, I assume that's just incase he can catch some lazy forwards in the middle, he was always around the ruck. That is something Sloan should have done a lot more but never did.

generally the fullback takes the last hit up before a kick on the next tackle, its more so for positioning and the rest of them can put in a chase on the kick.

It didnt make sense the mid-week meeting with him that could have been an email if the deal was as done as being made out... clearly it wasn't.
But if hes looking for more than 1 year maybe PNG didnt happen.. regardless, its not the end of the world if we dont get him, if we say got Pattie for 2027.. thats a better longterm play... we do need someone though...

And Sloan hardly ever does it or has always made himself available around the ruck. Pisses me off really with all the talent and speed he has, could have been one of the best supporting players in the game.

honestly it could be anyone.. hes a useful jigsaw piece for not too much cash and only 1yr commitment (as far as we know), the dogs r after a 9, but i just dunno if they would shoot for a 9 slash 13 cause like they have a few who can do that now.. but hes a shiny and available.. so who knows.
Manly were after a hooker for sure, would be hard to win Watsons signature over them.. ended up a Top4 level team at the moment... and they r much closer geographically to eastern sydney.
