Recruitment and Retention for 2025

Apparently, according to the DT the problem is that RCG wants 3 years but Dragons aren't willing to budge on 2 years. The right decision. No way he has 3 years left in him.
Same as Aaron Woods or did we give him a third year. Was one too many thats for certain.

Tell me why we picked up PNG rep Dan Russell and then Tom Eisenhuth. Imho little separates them. If anything Russell is the better player, certainly in attack and is probably a technically better defender too. He was given too little time in the top grade.

Analysis = true

Though I think Eisenhuth is a bit better but both very similar.

Eisenhuth is a better player on every level both defensively and in attack. Russell may very well be the NSW Cup version of Eisenhuth IMO

He's surprised me this year, I was wrong about him but he has been very effective as a bench impact player.
He had good moments last season but has been more consistent this season and has kept it simple. I hope we extend him a season but don't think it will happen

I agree Eisenhuth is better than Russell and I agree BMM has been ok this year. But I don't agree either of them should have kept the Couchman's out of the 17 this year let alone next year. Next year we have Latu, Loko Pasifiki Tonga, Egan maybe Halangahu and Stewart. I think the first 4 are locked into the top 30 and the other two are a possibility.

I don't think we need Eisenhuth or BMM. Nothing against them but there are a lot of juniors coming through to take their places.

Eisenhuth is getting a lot of love after an ok game. Anyone remember how he played against the Bulldogs? Let alone how the "tackling machine" played in the first Bulldogs game. The amount of tackles he makes and the number he misses makes him not look like much of a "tackling machine". Should have given Egan a chance in his place already.

If he can be signed for a minimum wage and a bit of dead wood can be cleared out of the top 30, might be an ok depth signing who only plays first grade if there is an injury crisis.

Spot on, pleased I have an ally. If I recall he has had one excellent game in defense, 56 tackles think it was and one very good all round game with 90m and 40 tackles, the rest have been moderate at best, specially his miserable offense. And remember he is playing big mins too. JDB takes him to the cleaners every week.

Details are vague, but it does sound like we have some sort of 'confidential' 2025 deal in place with Volkman (SMH Source: https://archive.md/YNNqA ).

I was hoping this would be the case.. rather than Marschke (whos really a 6).... Volkman is a genuine 7 who can pressure first grade and potentially be Hunts replacement in 2026.. and if doesnt work out.. we still have 12 months to source a different halfback... its a good speculator I reckon.

But the article is very vague.. I imagine it'll be a train & trial until we can move on probably Bird, as our last Top30 spot is for the prop currently.

Your thread NEWS FLASH. was deleted. Reason: Scam. I don't mind people posting rumors, false or not, but a few people complained.

Who posted this. I read the article and and assumed it was factual as the site sounded legit. How was I supposed to know it was from a scam site.

Are we still talking about moving on Bird but not Kyle Flanno? I just don't get it. Are we talking about Flanno wants or what any supporter not radically biased for Kyle wants?

Confidential settlement sounds like it might be that he sued the club and they reached an out of court settlement. Maybe though sounds a little unbelievable. Why would the Dragons have any responsibility rather than the Warriors who shipped off a secretly seriously injured player to the Dragons?

I dont think its anything like that.. maybe we chipped in money for his recovery or something and didnt need all that made public.. it sounds like if he could fix his shoulder we would contract him again, and hes done that.. but we still need to clear a Top30 spot first.
