All our xmas's have come at once if we get Metcalf and Watson early, regardless of what happens this year it gives them time to settle into the place getting ready for next year straight up.

I think we needed to lose our coach before we could sign a halfback.

It’s been dreadful this year but teams can change quickly with some upgrades in cattle. Tigers & Knights moved some pieces and are steadily improving. Sometimes you take the risk because what do we really have to lose at this point!

I’m all for Watson on a 1 year deal. He’s 30 in June. not tied down to him well into his 30’s and is the perfect modern day ‘middle’

No brainer signing if we can get him specifically for 1 year

I’m all about us having good NRL players even if it’s for a short period of time

Connor Watson for 2027 is a big yes from me. Will not hurt 1 bit and buys us more time to sort out the 14/back up hooker for 2028. No brainer

An experienced coach that has had a consistent top 8 team

Brad Arthur fits that category

And was probably a handbrake for other signings too. Maybe Flanno was the biggest problem with agents and players. Daniel Anderson has always been great at his job, now he’s doing his job without the handbrake holding him back.

Watson's a good defender. With him at 9, our middle defence would be very strong. Could start the game with him at 9 and bring Liddle on for the last 50.
