Dragons secure Ryan and Toby Couchman through 2030

The St George Illawarra Dragons have secured the long-term futures of Ryan and Toby Couchman, with the local juniors signing contract extensions that will keep them in the Red V until at least the end of the 2030 NRL season.

Whilst we can never forget this season and hopefully it burns within the players. Getting LPT and JH would be a tremendous effort for a team coming last. Just goes to show that having the right people in their proper positions can work wonders and DA deserves practically all the credit. Will be our best R and R since 2010. Well done to everyone concerned.

I wouldn't expect too many more signings, we have 28 on the roster for next year and only Suli looking like being released.
Note I think Leeroy needs to be bumped up on my list.

I believe Loko extensions are progressing well.

top 30 .. sounds like a throwback to the poor decisions of the past that DA is trying to undo

Tbf it’s a bit harder offering top 30 to 16 year olds because sometimes they look immense at that age and you want to lock them in and show them they’re valued by the club. There’s plenty of kids I’ve seen at 16/17 who I’ve immediately thought should get a top 30 deal (Like Burton and Jasais Ah Kee recently)

Think that’s just a gamble that hasn’t paid off, be great if we could move Weatherall on somehow though

I think this time next year we could be thinking Rokko Walker is one of those 17 year olds who should be given a top 30 deal with the exceptional talent he has

Yes Leeroy has shown what to earn the top 30 deal honestly he is a liability hot head and really hasn’t lived up to expectations I get sign young kids but to offer a top 30 deal and he is 19 amd done what the last two years. Rokko Walker still at school and 16
